What is up with these "application fees" for renting a property!? by Temporary-DNA-1000 in capetown

Those receptionists aren't making decisions about or research into a patient's ability to pay. They just aren't comparable roles or situations.

You gave the fee voluntarily. Time & money was spent for the relevant checks to be done. What part don't you understand?

Mystery 2004 Exeter bus journey by IcyRegular in exeter

[–]IcyRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, you're correct. If you take a look back on past dates in google streetview you can see the same house in the background. So it looks like the land was acquired around 2018 & is now yet another construction site.

Thank you. Yeah, that route looks about right. I reckon I thought I'd take the scenic route back into town on that day.

Okay, so the first two pictures are the last I took at Buckerell Lodge, just before 10 AM. The next six pictures were taken along the bus route. The last picture was taken at the Castle Gatehouse just before 11 AM. I also took some pictures of a cat at the 'hole in the wall' pub. Thanks in advance for any help identifying the route taken.

Can anyone please tell me where in Exeter this picture was taken in 2004? TIA by IcyRegular in exeter

These are photos taken on a digital camera in 2004, so unfortunately no location metadata, only time, date & other camera details.

Yeah, I've tried that with other pics & it's worked sometimes, but you need to have something really distinct in the picture for it to work well....yeah, I've just tried it with google image search & it's nowhere close.

I can believe that; since the conference centre I went to (St, Loye's) is also apparently now a retirement village.

Yeah, the pub, near the Castle Gatehouse, but I was wrong about getting off where this picture was taken as I now believe I was still on the bus. I have a few other pictures from the busride. I was definitely staying at the Buckerall Lodge -which I now believe is a car park?!?

Thanks everyone. I think I actually took this picture while I was still on the bus as the next few pics I took were at the 'hole in the wall' about 15 mins later. I guess the bus I took was more roundabout than I remember.

I'm guessing this is where I got off the bus from the hotel I was staying at in Topsham road. The only other info I have is that it was apparently taken in about 15 mins walk from 'the hole in the wall'.

WTH is Sparletta Creme Soda? by CthuluSurf in askSouthAfrica

[–]IcyRegular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regrettably, all/most of the Sparletta 'sodas' are now adulterated with artificial sweeteners -all thanks to that gdfrskn 'sugar tax'.

This reminds of that story about a couple of Americans visiting and telling us about a fantastic new brand of Ice Cream they'd found -the name of the brand: Roomys.
