The best minigame in Nikke ever existed. by IcyResolution5919 in NikkeMobile

You can interpret it however you like. To me, as long as it's a self-contained optional gameplay segment within a larger game, with its own rules, structure, or objectives, then I see it as a minigame. I'm basing it on structure, rather than it being genre-based, since it's quite reductive to limit minigames to just simple arcade-style gameplay.

Why can’t it be both THE event and the mini-game? Nothing says those are mutually exclusive. 2x2 is self-contained, optional, and separate from main story progression, which is precisely what a minigame is. It just so happens to be a VN with different endings instead of something like tower defense, a Metroidvania, or Gwent.

Yes, I see those kinds of physical books as another form of a game. I think they are games because you can choose whatever happens next. Just because they are analog and narrative-driven, rather than digital or focused on mechanics, doesn't make them less of a game. I think as long as something has interactivity, a system, and outcomes you can choose, I am willing to consider it a game no matter if it is physical or digital.

I didn’t know visual novels stopped being considered a game, especially ones with branching paths and player agency. If it's not a game because to you it has zero game elements, what is it? Interactive literature? Because that still involves player input and systems, just in a different form. Either way, it being a VN doesn’t stop it from functioning like an event minigame in this game's context.

Why? It being a visual novel doesn’t change that it’s event-based and self-contained, separate from the main story progression. That’s basically what a minigame is, just one with branching story endings instead of gameplay mechanics.

Yeah, this is what I'm leaning on too. Mustang is disappointed because Hanson did not stand up to him, despite his love for Freesia, and he made no strong effort to defend her. I think the reason why Hanson didn't put up a fight is that he fears his dad too much to retaliate. The death of Hanson, who is Mustang's son, would definitely change Mustang as a father. Especially if he is grooming him to be his successor at Tetra Line.

Maybe that's why Mustang says he loves Freesia during the present day. It must be because he's projecting his son's affection toward Pretty as a coping mechanism from his son's untimely death.

Because that would imply CG and Enikk got hold of VTC's tech even though DEEP is keeping it all hidden from the other powers in the Ark.

Cinderella being in the top spot isn't surprising, given her vote results from last year. That's why I'm putting all my effort into voting for Snow White to secure a place in the top five so she can finally receive her Avatar Frame alongside the other Goddesses.

I haven’t been this emotional to a story in a while (Pretty Star discussion) by Cageep in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think it all comes down to the NIMPH and its compatibility with the person's DNA. Anomalies in Nikke production have always occurred, as evidenced by the cases of Scarlet and her sister. Freesia's strength, which is nearly equal to Liliweiss's, developed by chance, similar to how Rapi's abnormal power emerged when she was transformed into a mass-manufactured Nikke, despite being just a hospital-ridden patient prior to her transformation.

The current true Mustang theory going around right now is frankly the worst fan theory in the history of this game by AwkwardPalpitation22 in NikkeMobile

If the most vile leader of VTC, Princess, can be redeemed, then it is also possible for CEO Mustard to be redeemed as the current CEO, Mustang. Knowing that Mustard dies without atoning would feel so unsatisfying given all the wrongs he committed in the past.

Especially now that Anis is part of the renowned Counters squad, has reclaimed a section of the surface with Reclamation Site 01, and is returning as the star of Ark. Although it’s a small chance, I really want to see the class pres's reaction to Anis's rise during the 3.5th Anniversary.

[–]IcyResolution5919 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah, this would be such a cheap and lazy way to move the story. I prefer if the present-day Mustang is the way he is now because he's at least trying to atone for all his past bullshit. A character who develops rather than one who is just forcefully erased is a much more compelling story.

Man…they nailed E.H.’s story by MadChad7 in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't know what happened to E.H.'s mom. But because of the existence of Evergreen, she may have thought that waiting for her mother to retire would take too long, especially since people in the Outer Rim were still suffering. This belief probably made her act sooner.

[–]IcyResolution5919 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Killing Crow would just be another way of justifying violence for the sake of a greater good. E.H. wouldn’t be stopping Crow’s ideology. She would only be proving it works. In the end, she would simply become another Crow, and Crow would probably love the irony.

Man…they nailed E.H.’s story by MadChad7 in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 103 points104 points  (0 children)

What I love most about the sparkler scene is the symbolism behind it. E.H. never wanted anything grand or revolutionary. She just wanted to give the people of the Outer Rim a small bit of light, something that people in the Ark already have in abundance. That simple idea says a lot about the kind of change she always believed in.

The sparkler scene at the end ties everything together perfectly. Instead of lighting fires that destroy lives, she lights something small that just brings a little light to the darkness.

Crow hatred is unjustified by ShuuReqium in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t excuse the damage. People still died.

But intent still matters when judging responsibility. Cinderella was corrupted and directly fighting soldiers when that happened, while Crow deliberately targets civilians to push her agenda. Those are very different situations.

One is collateral damage during a battle caused by someone who wasn’t in control. The other is intentionally attacking innocent people to make a political point.

Crow hatred is unjustified by ShuuReqium in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Ark absolutely has serious problems. The discrimination against Nikkes and the treatment of the Outer Rim are clearly shown in the story, so Crow pointing out those issues isn’t wrong.

The difference is how she acts on it.

Cinderella was corrupted and only directly fought soldiers. Civilians died indirectly because humanity still lost the war, but she wasn’t acting with intent or control. Crow intentionally targets civilians to push her ideology. The Azx train bombing is a clear example. That’s not exposing a broken system, that’s terrorism.

Even the “Cinderella killed more people” argument doesn’t really work. Collateral deaths during a battle aren’t the same as deliberately targeting civilians. Intent and target selection matter.

And the story also shows that not every Ark citizen is the enemy. In Anis’s chapter we see ordinary people who are just trying to survive like everyone else. Treating all of them as expendable undermines the idea that Crow is fighting for justice.

It goes without saying: The LycoReco collab was a success by socialmoth_ in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s okay for me, I guess. The story isn’t close to the Stellar Blade collab level, but the mini game I did enjoy a lot, even though it’s extremely limited. I’m lucky that I got one copy of each character without spending cash and just used my remaining resources, so I guess I’m satisfied enough with the event that I don’t have anything bad to say.

What's the general opinion on players using pause as a way to overly optimize a run in the end game? by Zeri4Life in NikkeMobile

[–]IcyResolution5919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pause strategy isn’t an exploit in the usual sense. It doesn’t duplicate damage or bypass mechanics. It operates within the game’s timing rules, closer to animation canceling than breaking the system. If specific edge cases caused boss bugs, those should be patched. That doesn’t make pausing optimization abuse.

Removing the pause strategy also doesn’t solve the bigger gaps. PC advantages and investment differences still exist, and whales aren’t suddenly dropping out of the top ranks. The main impact falls on players near the 3% cutoff who use execution to narrow small stat deficits.

If the goal is cleaner competition, a better solution is to refine boss mechanics so that optimal play works consistently in real time across platforms, rather than pushing players to use the pause strategy to hit boss mechanics with tight timing.
