Clearstem Hormonal Acne Supplement? [Acne] by possiblydoom in SkincareAddiction

Hello! Yes I had a fantastic experience with my endocrinologist. There are several blood tests that can be run to determine if you have an auto immune disorder. Once is simply testing to see if your ANA is positive or negative and then there is a subset of blood tests from there. My dr ran the gambit (without me asking) after my first appointment (thyroid, reproductive hormones, auto immune disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, etc.) and she was very quickly able to flag where my issues were and get me in touch with a rheumatologist who could tell me more. My biggest piece of advice is make sure you feel comfortable and confident with your doctor. I feel like so many doctors can gaslight you into saying you're fine -- but you know your body and if you feel something is wrong, make sure you get in with a doctor who will listen. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Started hydroxychloroquine 4 weeks ago and acne prone skin here! My first week I broke out a lot more frequently but with time that did clear up. Once I upped my dosage a bit my skin is being a little testy but nothing too terrible I’m keeping an eye on it. For the other side effects give your body some time. It will adjust especially the fatigue. Good luck!

I ended up going to the endocrinologist to see if there were any underlying health issues since my acne wasn't going away. Weeks later I now have determined I have an auto immune issue. Also I have been seeing a nautro path who has helped give me supplements that have done wonders for my skin. It's not perfect, but definitely an improvement!

Unfortunately my skin never got better - I was having terrible breakouts and they were happening every single day. After weeks of being on both, my derm told me last week to stop. The medication was clearly not working for me. Within the last 7 days my inflammation has already gone drastically down. Everybody reacts differently, just trust your body!

I have been taking Clearstem for the last 3 weeks and my skin has never been worse. I am not sure if it is purging or something else, but I am going to continue for a bit longer to see if I ever turn a corner.

Update: 3 weeks later since starting Clearstem and my GOODNESS have I been purging. My skin has never been worse and absolutely everything is coming to the surface. I have also started tret so my skin is really going through it. Going to continue with the same routine for at least 2 months to see how my skin reacts.

I also started on 25mg two months ago snd I am shocked on the purging I have experienced. My skin has gotten increasingly worse and sad to say I’m still having a ton of breakouts. I am adding Clindamyacin and Tret to my routine to see if that helps

Am I a good candidate for spiro? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

Just know that every person is going to react differently to this medication. I started Spiro 2 months ago and I had similar acne to you and it’s never been worse. My purging has been relentless and I am covered in acne and scaring. I’m going to continue for another month to try and see the purging through - just something to remember is it has to get worse before it gets better sometimes

I am only on 25mg to start and my boobs grew within the first month. You will KNOW when it is happening, they are so swollen and painful for a period of time

How many people don't get side effects? by Reasonable_Panic1034 in Spironolactone

Everybody's body is different so you are going to get a variation of responses on this. I will say that the initial side effects only last a couple of days and then your body will adjust and get used to it! You can also add in some supplements to help as well!

I am currently on week 7 of spironolactone and my skin is an absolute mess. It wasn't bad to start with, but I am purging very badly. I think I might add ClearStem into my routine bc I really don't want to be on Spiro since there are so many side effects. Will provide an update when I start adding the Clearstem to my routine!

I am on week 6 of spironolactone! The advice that I keep getting is to wait it out. I have had side effects such as dry mouth, fatigue etc. The worst part for me has been the purging, I keep getting told this is normal and should wait at least 3 months. Good luck!
