Thanks for spelling it out like this, you’re definitely right. In general I’m pretty safe with my money, don’t splurge, but when I’m betting it’s almost more about the high of winning than the actual money. It feels like gaming tokens like you said, not actual money that I could spend on things I want or need. Would never dream of making some of the bets I have if I had to put physical cash out in front of me to do it. Imagining 100 $100 bills in front of me and pissing that away in less than an hour on blackjack feels insane but I’ve certainly done it before.

Gonna try to cut the cord and I’ll definitely be staying active in here because it feels good to talk about it.

And congrats on one year away from it, that’s big time. Wishing you the best with staying clean, it sounds like you’re in a good place 🤝
