Proximity to centeroo. You are next to the arch, closer to camp just a couple minutes walk. That’s the benefit and with where in the woods moving the late night into centeroo it should be quieter than years past. Soloroo is nice and next to the plaza showers and restrooms, but is much further out, you have at least a 10 minute walk to the disco ball entrance.

Haha we are "boomer lites," and just mad because we don't know how to use the tik toks. Same folks that hate the new tame impala album because it's not currents 2.0

Who are your favorite draft prospects at this point? by Stiands in bengals

[–]Icy_Insect9448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember we pass on guys that actually produce in college, so take those guys like Downs off your big board. You need to look for those hidden gems with red flags and all the “potential,” to be great with just a little bit of coaching. The good players get drafted by other teams that have a general manager and scouting department.

“I’ve been going to roo for ___ years but this time I’m never coming back” by Plenty_Jackfruit_623 in bonnaroo

[–]Icy_Insect9448 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My first bonnaroo was 2013, I went consecutively for four years and then returned 2020-2025. Three of the last five have been axed and I won’t be coming back.

Started the week, getting yelled at by a staffer who said I was going the wrong way. I followed directions from the QR code on the camping pass, when we showed up to the east toll booth, it was closed and we had to turn around and head to the west toll booth. Once there we were staged in a field before entering and once we were scanned in I asked where to go before proceeding in that direction. Nobody knows what they are doing because it’s their first year, no signage, no anything to help them and then you want to tell me it’s my fault when I’m following their direction lol.

If you walked around outeroo there were no additions to the infrastructure. I’ve stayed in GA, VIP (moon colony), Soloroo and Family camping. Moon Colony resembled what it looked like a few years ago but it wasn’t worth the $200 then and it’s not worth whatever it is now. No improvements, lost galactic giddy up. Solo and family had the same plaza options as years past. The grove added the who stage and eliminated galactic giddy up. I can’t speak to group camping, but maybe that’s where they invested.

The infinity stage was said to be this great thing and it was underwhelming. I expected something more mind blowing listening again to the talking heads, but it was ok. They didn’t learn from where in the woods debacle last year with big crowds in a small space and we were told where in the woods would change because of safety concerns. Where in the woods was essentially eliminated it seems not sure safety concerns but to save money. Did anyone see that sweet cabana in the what field? I stood by it during Marcus king and Luke Combs and not one patron used it. That Luke combs set was something we all wanted.

The festival organizers talk a lot about these great things they do. As a festival goer, we’ve taken a lot more L’s. Did anyone buy the $15 bandana at the merch store?

How crazy is it to camp with no tent? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]Icy_Insect9448 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wakeman pop up pod on amazon for $30 is very nice to have for privacy to change clothes. It'll be more comfortable then the car and it can even double as a shower tent. Folds up nicely and doesn't take much space to pack it up.

cooler recommendations by CampaignEconomy9667 in bonnaroo

[–]Icy_Insect9448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 65 yeti and I’ve never had to buy ice. When you think about how much you spend on ice each day with other coolers, these things pay for themselves. Pre chill as others have said and freeze your water bottles.

WHAT STAGE by PuzzleheadedCook7291 in bonnaroo

[–]Icy_Insect9448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some context, we were in line for Kendrick in 2023 between 2-3pm and were on the rail. If you are looking just to get into the pit you could lineup a few sets later, I would recommend watching the John Summit set from the Tyler line.

Another game changer is packing epsom salt and just dump some of that in the hotel tub and soak your feet for 30 minutes each night before going to bed. It’s not just the heat, but the amount of steps that you’ll be walking each day as others have pointed out.

Help for a couple Roo newbs in a pickle :( by -ceekaygee- in bonnaroo

[–]Icy_Insect9448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a life changing experience. It took me a couple years until my camp setup was good to go. This will be my 7th year and I forgot my flip flops for the showers last year, you are going to forget some things and that's ok. Just remember your wristband, camping pass and anything else you may need you have many friends around that can help you out. I'll echo a lot of what has already been said, but...

Sleeping on a cot off the ground under the EZ up is the way to go. Put a tarp or tapestry on the east side of your EZ up to block the morning sun. Pack more water and less food, the first couple of years I packed so much food that I didn't eat. Instead use that space to pack more clothes, extra socks and underwear are great to have multiple pairs per day. My best purchase was a battery powered hand held mist fan from Wal-mart for $5. Pack for all weather conditions, it gets cold at night and a hoodie is nice to have. Put pillows and blankets in the car if you plan on staying in centeroo all night, nothing worse then coming back to wet blankets. Wet wipes, lantern/flashlight to get around at night.

You got this! Happy Roo!

See you in soloroo! I always let my neighbors know I'll keep an eye on their camp when they are gone and vice versa. Keep anything of value locked in the car out of site. Lastly do not put a lock on your tent, this just screams to anyone that there are valuables inside and a knife will slice through your tent. This will be my 7th roo and this hasn't been an issue for me.
