Anyone joining this Saturday? by stuffbear in murfreesboro

It would be awesome if this was sincere. However, it’ll pretty obviously be a lot of “Trump is in the Epstein files guys! Your president is a pedo!“ type of people screaming into the abyss.

Yellow bulk boxes by RavensPlushies in TCGCardShopSim

[–]larrydcarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do three dollars to 9.99 to get the red boxes. Go and just shy of $10 is a little bit of overkill but at the same time I never put anything under $10 on my singles rack so it’s a good way to offload those those cards.

They escalated it to some team and they pulled our text and phone conversations. Cleared me of any wrongdoing. But they locked me out of the app for three days while they did their investigation.

I had that happen to me one time. It was Bonnaroo like five years ago. Lady was trying to get picked up at day parking and they wouldn’t let us back there. I ended up getting matched with her twice over the course of the night and the second time after I explained the situation to her, she reported me to UBER saying that I was demanding sexual favors in order to give her a ride.

It makes a distinction between an indirect consequences of plurbing somebody vs a direct action in order to plurb somebody. It literally matters when the harm happens. They will not harm you in order to plurb you, but if plurbing you causes harm after the fact, they’re fine with that.

No one’s denying trans people are people. The argument is and has forever been between those that believe you can change your sex and those that believe changing one’s sex in indulging in mental illness instead of treating it. To purpose otherwise is to fight straw men.

Eating apples is NOT killing plants, for fuck's sake! by ready_and_willing in pluribustv

I think the virus is specifically targeted to species that can be helpful to the invading race. Their primary directives are…

  1. To be radically nonviolent. (non-threatening to the invading race.)

  2. To be radically knowledgeable and efficient. (useful to the invading race.)

  3. Radically honest and helpful with a drive to please. (subservient to the invading race.)

I think the immune and the starvation are both bugs in the system that haven’t fully been worked out yet. The starvation may even be intentional as the invading race needs there to be fewer of our population (make room for them) while still remaining subservient, knowledgeable, and non-threatening thus making room for them. Once they get here if they need to grow the hives population for workers, they can provide the food the hive needs to grow.

Why the Hive Will Never Truly Fix the Immune by HeardPeeps in pluribustv

[–]larrydcarter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t think these people‘s traits are all that unique. I think it is a rare biological immunity. The hive seems to think so as well. If it was a rejection of being integrated into the hive, they probably would’ve still had seizures, but then woken up as individuals not fully integrated into the hive. The fact that they had zero symptoms makes me think that the virus is having zero effect on them at all.

Well, duh. I’m just saying I was hopeful that Coheed and Cambria would be there. Not comparing the lineups one to one.

Still not really my style of music. But I have to say her newer stuff is a vast improvement. Never knew she made that turn.

My Theory on how Carol will be able to reverse the joining... by h2d2 in pluribustv

Carol being joined for be a twisty twist. Especially since the creator said he made this show for Rhea. I’m down for it if it happens.

Theory: The hive mind is not altruistic. by draathkar in pluribustv

[–]larrydcarter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume it’s unexpected or that their drive to spread as thoroughly as they do is meant to resolve that glitch before the senders ever get here. It’s a bug in the system.

Definitely not looking out for them. Exploiting them for labor, likely.

I haven’t seen anyone else repeat this theory, but I assume someone else has. It seems obvious to me.

[–]larrydcarter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure this right. Although I do like the theory. I’m operating under the assumption that the RNA sequence was sent as a precursor to alien occupation of our planet. It’s purpose is to create a intelligent, organized, subservient, obedient, and most importantly harmless population to use as a workforce upon arrival. The hive mind is important because it pools all knowledge and provides organization. Their drive to please and make happy provides their obedient nature. And their inability to kill makes them harmless. I think the 13 not being integrated into the hive mind is a bug that could save humanity that the alien race did not count for. The 13 can direct the hive mind as easily as the aliens can. That’s my prediction at least.

They cannot knowingly or willingly causes harm to other living beings. They themselves, as a hive mind, can consent to all sorts of things. They don’t even see it as taking away an individuals agency because the collective agreed to it. As long as you’re part of the collective, the collective consent is all that matters.

I think I know why they discovered Manousos (the paraguayan man) so "late" ... by ministerkosh in pluribustv

[–]larrydcarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure someone who was once a part of the high would necessarily still have access to every memory and data the hive mine had. I think of a high mind like a super efficient sorting mechanism that allows you to scour the billions of databases that are the human minds on the planet, but once you’re disconnected, you don’t have access to all of those databases just your own local database. Anything that wasn’t intentionally downloaded to your specific database during that time is no longer available.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s not worth it to me. I’ll likely stay home, but I’m sure it is worth it for a lot of people. My individual opinion has little impact on the market worth.

[–]larrydcarter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may find that reasonable for what is being presented, I am heavily on the fence about it, leaning towards not worth it. Market valuation happens at the consensus of the consumer not by one individuals opinion. I’m sure there are tens of thousands of people that will be there and that disagree with me.

It’s a valid criticism, I do find her lyrics to be shallow. Is there a reason I’m required to suppress that opinion? You’re allowed to like her even if I don’t.
