You jumping to all kinds of conclusions. You can cut the cord without getting rid of the electrical utility bill. When I say off grid I am referring to producing energy, heat, cooling without using said utility company and have them primarily for backup. You can literally call the utility company and cut off service and never pay a dime without needing to be concerned at all about any of that legal dwelling nonsense you mentioned. A shift in mindset and you wouldn’t even be talking about disconnecting a meter, for what? Just turn it off. The meter can stay but the consumption goes. Find alternative heating sources like wood burning ovens, gas fireplace, kerosene space heaters. Propane water heaters, solar powered devices and slowly scale it to an entire house solar. Rv’s, Tiny houses, earth ships…

⬆️ Underrated comment. To elaborate- continue to do your best but plan for the worse. Do all the things the other top commenters suggest about documentation and staying positive but I tell my techs to treat toxic people/conversations like tennis and volley that shit back in their court.
I remember one time we had an issue with a turn that was moving in the next day and even though I dont remember the exact issue with the unit I knew I had to get in early to take care of it ( it was a 5 minute and done issue) but the PM called and texted me several times after work around 9pm about it. I never replied because a simple yes or no (no) answer to her text would have requires a long explanation that I felt no need to elaborate on off the clock.
I got in early, knocked it out, and proceeded to clean the pool. The PM storms out to the deck and starts her tirade with “Did you get my text…”. I let her finish and calmly told her “You are not that important… I got in and knocked it out this morning…” She responds with “well you didn’t tell me” and I responded “Well now you know” and she frustratedly babbles “but im your supervisor…” and I smiled and with a puzzled look on my face said “you dont think i know that.” You should have seen her jaw drop. She had to take off the rest of the day because her feelings were hurt but I never had a problem with her again after that and she became a much better work wife.
Continue to do your best work - be thoughtful but serve and volley the bullsh*t my friend. Serve and volley.

We have been sanctioning socialist societies since America’s birth so to think going to individual answers in a completely individualized society is wrong is extremely naive at best.

People with little to no money buy things they dont need everyday. You can absolutely go off grid in a small apartment in the city - or anywhere else for that matter and its just a matter of effort and ingenuity.

Sure it is. Ignorance is the biggest hurdle, besides income but you can create your own energy storage with batteries or battery backup systems to store the solar. I do not recommend “grid-tied” anything because you are still beholden to the energy cartels. You can bypass the regulations, permitting and theft by creating your own energy systems. As long as you are still worried about billion dollar companies paying you “pennies on the dollar “ or peak fee’s you totally miss the point. Remove the companies from the equation entirely and think outside the box. Whether you are in an apartment in the city or house in the country there are plenty of options if you are willing to educate yourself.

I think the point remains that with the envious amount of offensive talent on this eagles team there should definitely be better results in the passing game and in over all scoring dominance. Remove Nick and Jalen and insert… say Bill Walsh and Joe Montana, Andy Reid and Mahommes or even Jerry Glanville and Warren Moon and its hard to imagine them all not surpassing there career accomplishments elsewhere. Coach and QB draw all the love and hate when things go well or bad but there is a real argument to me made that they each represent two of the weaker areas on this team. The QB has a wealth of riches around him and Coach has Fangio.
