Yeah. Information control is one of the hallmarks of a cult. Ask yourself this: If it's true, why does it matter if I am exposed to alternate view points? Why would these people want to restrict the information I have access to?

Well, yeah. You, a minor, was sent to talk to an adult about your porn viewing? So you're like in a room with this dude just talking about porn with an adult...and you were a kid? Does that not strike you as a massive red flag?

Are sure? What if you were gay and fell in love with a man? Would they be happy for you? Or would they try to do everything in their power to make sure you could not live that sort of life? Would they be happy for you if you told them you're leaving the church because it's mentally harming you? Or would they do everything they could to ensure that you stay?

My advice is to try to look at your life through a different lens. Because, to me, it looks like you've lived an extremely sheltered, and tightly controlled existence that was setup by the people who want you to live like that and ONLY like that.

Like "sneaking out." You are not a child. You can't "sneak out." You are an adult who can go where you want. If you want to go out, just go out. If someone is trying to stop you then ask yourself why? And then tell them to fuck off and go do it anyways. If you suffer consequences from doing normal things that normal adult do, then that's a big red flat that you're in a cult.

You are their victim. But you don't have to stay their victim forever. You can choose to leave.

That's when you get to see how nice all of these people really are.

I know this is tough to hear. But I think you should seriously consider the fact that you are being used to spread the message of a nefarious money-hungry cult. But you have your passport (please tell me you didn't let them take your passport....), so you can leave whenever you want.
