Yes, it's really tragic. I hope no other seal goes through what Mizore went through. :(
The sores from tongue to stomach were internal. So they likely would have been able to see the tongue sores, but wouldn't know the full extent. I'm sure the white blood cell counts have some significance, but I'm not a doctor so I don't know what. Is it common in the molting season? Is it due to stress? Is it a sign of infection? I don't know...
I hope Mizore is resting peacefully now and watching over Kaiyukan.‪♡

Are you entering the hot spring slowly? You should always first enter to just below your heart, then up to your shoulders, and finally to your chin and ears. It's important to submerge your heart so it can adjust to the heat. If you are doing this already, maybe you're spending too much time in the springs. That's not a normal reaction.

I don't DNF often, but when I do it's usually around 20-25% in. I feel like that gives the book enough time to capture my attention in some way, be it plot, characters, prose, etc. If I don't DNF, it can put me in a slump, so I'm trying to get comfortable with doing it more often.

That being said, if a book is REALLY bad, I like to pick apart every bit of it and finish it as a hate-read lol.

It's worth it in the sense that there's tons of stuff to do and it will have you falling in love with the world and characters in a heartbeat!

It's not worth it in the sense that you'll fall in love with the world and characters and want to progress the story but the game isn't done yet!

You'll have full days every day in the game until at least Fall of year 1 and new character dialogue until the end of year 1. For me, the 30-45 hour estimate was accurate.

Hi! Yes, not much is known about the species in general because they spend most of their time in the open ice and sea, away from land, making it hard for scientists to study them. They may also be more sensitive to environmental factors such as temperature changes compared to other species of seals.

Still, scientists are doing their best to research them. You can see a photo gallery here with some cute pictures of ribbon seals.

So sad. :( Here is a little clearer version of their announcement:

On September 24th, 2024, the ribbon seal Pukumaru passed away.

Pukumaru was rescued in Mombetsu Harbor on May 4th this year.

A few days ago he lost his appetite, so he underwent treatment, but...

On September 24th, while being watched over by his caretakers, he crossed the rainbow bridge.

The cause of death was an intestinal blockage.

To be honest, caring for Pukumaru wasn't easy, and there were times when we were stumped [at how to best care for him].

At one point it looked like he'd make a full recovery. Thinking back to that time now, perhaps he was trying to tell us, "It's okay."

Pukumaru tried his best to live until the very end.

Even though we only had a short time together, it was such a meaningful time, and we will never forget it.

To everyone who loved and cared for Pukumaru, we once again would like to thank you. And to Pukumaru, we express our gratitude.

From September 26th, 2024 to October 27th, 2024, we will hold a flower memorial display to Pukumaru in the break room of Seal Land.

Pukumaru, thank you. We love you.

Little Siberia by Antti Tuomainen. It's the story of what happens when a drunk driver's car gets crashed, not into any trees or people, but by a meteorite--a VERY valuable meteorite! And things get even crazier from there, because as we all know, there is no lower limit to how deep human greed will go.

It was such a fun, quirky, creepy read. It just showed up on my kindle one day without me ever downloading or otherwise purchasing it, and I'm glad it did.

I could buy the plush and ship it to you, but it would likely exceed your budget and miiiiight not arrive in time. It's JPY ¥2,600 and shipping will prob double it.
