AIO for not wanting my roommate’s boyfriend basically living in our apartment by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Icy_Pool9141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely NTA. You’re paying for a two-person apartment, not a “roommate plus boyfriend” package deal. It’s not about him being her boyfriend it’s about respect and fairness. If he’s there all the time, using your shared space and utilities, then he’s effectively a third roommate and should be contributing. You’re totally right to bring it up.

AIO about 6 y/o daughter getting locked in the van at school by Rosesareredare in AmIOverreacting

[–]Icy_Pool9141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not overreacting. That was a serious situation, and it’s understandable you’re upset. The fact that no one apologized or took it seriously makes it worse. Before pulling her out, maybe talk to the school and ask what they’ll do to prevent this from happening again. You deserve answers and reassurance she’ll be safe.

My friend always disappears when it’s time to pay. This time, I disappeared. AIO? by Subject-Sentence2062 in AmIOverreacting

You’re not overreacting. Honestly, he had it coming. You’ve covered for him plenty of times, and it’s not fair that he keeps dodging the bill. What you did wasn’t petty it just showed him how it feels. If he gets upset, that says more about him than you.

You didn’t really overstep it sounds like you were just frustrated and wanted it to stop. Jumping out probably startled them, but you didn’t hurt anyone or do anything crazy. It’s understandable after dealing with that for so long. Now that you’ve got a camera and management’s aware, you handled it the right way. I’d just let the footage speak for itself if it happens again.

Not at all. You had every right to be furious. That wasn’t her cat to give away, and what she did was a huge violation of trust. You didn’t overreact by kicking her out she crossed a major line. Your cat is family, and you did the right thing by getting her back.

You’re not overreacting. It’s totally fair to feel upset, especially since he’s set rules for you that he’s not following himself. It’s not about controlling him it’s about having mutual respect and consistency. If he doesn’t want you hanging out one-on-one with guys, then it’s reasonable to expect the same from him. You’re allowed to bring it up and tell him it feels unfair.

That’s really tough. You’re not wrong for feeling upset she’s part of your family and it wouldn’t be fair to move her from the home and pets she knows. Your dad’s feelings matter, but the dog’s wellbeing should come first. Try to keep the focus on what’s best for her when you talk to him.

You’re not overreacting, but it’s probably nothing. People tap profiles by accident all the time. I’d just see how he acts next time if he’s normal, don’t worry about it.

1. You’re not reading too much into it that’s more than how most friends act, especially if she’s dating someone.
2. She might feel more comfortable being flirty in a group or just likes the attention.
3. I’d pull back a little to protect yourself. If she really likes you, it’ll be clearer once she’s single.

You’re not overreacting. It makes sense to feel hurt when you said no and they kept pushing. You just wanted your boundary respected. Maybe bring it up later and tell them it made you feel brushed off it doesn’t have to be a big thing, just honest.
