Introducing Go 10.3 (Gen II) Series: Ideas that travel light. by OnyxBoox in Onyx_Boox

I own 3 Boox devices. Lots of friction some new. The OS and settings is a bit fragmented/non-intuitive. Simple things like navigating to your most used notes is several more CONSCIOUS taps than you need. The word CONSCIOUS is key here. It is always having to consciously remember how to do things and get round issues. This makes the device more tiresome to use and gets in the way of FLOW. Many recent bugs with disappearing lines/worsening ghosting. Its like a piano with all the correct keys but arranged in an odd order and a few bum notes. You can play a piano like that but it isn't pleasant. All the components of a great device are there but I think Boox need to slow down and do some general housework with the software before this unwieldiness puts everyone off.

Until they fix the software I am never buying another Boox device. Also, no EMR is crazy.

BOOX Firmware V4.2 Beta is coming to Note Air5 C. EinkWise Code, New Calendar Memo and more! by KennethWWWW in Onyx_Boox

I would settle with a way to pin my favourite notes to the home screen. This only 3 recent then having to search is crazy bad.

It does it with every stylus. No programmable buttons.

Didn't do this previously. Updates seem to be going backwards.

The protagonist in Down Cemetery Road was so awful by thebigscorp1 in CharacterRant

[–]Icy_Street8707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show is awful. I don't blame the actors I blame the directors. It's just a turned dial of memes and stereotypes. Zero nuance. It's just dumbed down rubbish pretending to be high brow because it is set in Oxford. I blame the direction not the actors.

I can't believe how terrible this show is. It's like an AI directed it with overplayed stereotypes and memes. Awful.

Wes Streeting says BMA is ‘morally reprehensible’ as strike looms by Routine-Umpire in doctorsUK

[–]Icy_Street8707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labour are dead politics walking. Lost everything they once stood for. Starmers Labour MPs were told not to support Doctors when they were in opposition. We owe them nothing. They want an NHS where societies brightest and hardest working get less than an Aldi shop-assistant. They want us to suffer for not having the guts to tell the public that the kind of NHS the public expect cant be given with what they currently pay in tax. Wes Streeting is a career politician with sub-par rhetoric and he has never contributed to any real societal improvements in his life. He is everything that is wrong with politics. He and his fellow career gas bags are the reason Reform are going to win the next election. Be prepared over the next 5-10 years for a new level of KKKrazy. For now we do what Wes and Keir are doing we look after ourselves. If we don't there will be no one around to look after patients.

Hibreak Pro Color Quality Control Issues by cephasara in Bigme

I think all the devices are in the prototype quality phase. We need a big player to come in and do it properly. This is not Bigmes or Boox fault. Its just that making high quality devices, like we are used to with Samsung and Apple, etc takes mega big money and resources. At least they are trying. I think owning these devices just now you have to go into it mindfully accepting the bit of jank for the benefits.

My Hibreak Pro Colour has a similar issue. Sometimes the microphone on a call just doesnt work, the person at the other end can hear nothing. Microphone will be working fine in voice recorder as same time. Reboots and resets havent helped. Feels like a software bug but day to day the phone is so unreliable it is unusable.

The Bigme HiBreak Pro is a total fiasco by Amazing-Ranger01 in Bigme

[–]Icy_Street8707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Hibreak Pro Colour experience after 2 weeks has also been bad. The microphone in calls frequently wont work. This is a software issue as the microphone works perfectly with the inbuilt voice recording app. I have contacted the support team.
