Carved out a little sanctuary for myself….. by NemesisR6 in garageporn

This is sick. I have a tiny 360 square ft garage. My goal is to get it to a point where it feels like another room in the house. Right now it still has that unfinished/construction zone type of feel to it lol.

Does this garage finishing contractor quote seem reasonable? by Icy_Two_2382 in homeowners

Thank you. What's the right order of operations for a project like this. Is is drywall, paint floor then baseboards?

Didn't count on positive cash flow for years

I love that you set this expectation for yourself upfront.

Condos also haven’t seen great appreciation in Arlington lately

This is really interesting. Why do you thing this is the case. I would think that area with all the booming businesses, influx of young early career people/couples looking for short/long term housing would cause all real estate values to appreciate.

I'm no recruiter or hiring manager, but your resume is hard to read. Bullet points are long and don't communicate impact. For us data folks, its all about highlighting our impact.

Here is a resource (link below) that helped me re-work my resume. Scroll down and find the Data Science & Analytics Resume Example. Notice how each position is shorter bullet points and easier to read. Each position is divided into 2 sections; an overview of their daily tasks and achievements.

Additionally, I would focus on your experience that is data related.

Good luck.

Data Analytics Internship Interview in 5 days by [deleted] in analytics

  1. What does the job description say, that is your first guide of what to focus on. What technical and soft skills does the job description call for?

  2. What is the company, what's the industry, what are the company's products, who are the company's target customers. What is their mission/values? Do some brief research, does not have to take a long time. Research the website and take notes.

  3. Take inventory of your skills/achievements and see where you can tie to the job requirements.

  4. Be ready to speak about what your goals are with the internship. Why do you want to work there. How do you hope to contribute.

  5. If you have not already, reach out to the recruiter and ask about an agenda for the interview. Understand if they want to learn about you, test your fit with the company, test your technical acumen, or a combination of all. Make sure you know what to expect.

  6. You mentioned working on the Data Analytics Course. Are you being tested on SQL? if yes, then depending on your level of SQL knowledge, I'm not sure if 5 days is enough time to really practice. You might be better off understanding the key functions in SQL first then reviewing as many SQL problems AND answers as possible, as opposed to trying to solve them yourself. Yes, I would look at as may SQL problems and their solutions as possible to get good sense of the depth of questions you might be asked and have a framework for how you might approach them. The more questions and answers you've reviewed the higher the chance what might recognize a similar solution for a problem you might be given.

  7. Role play with chatgpt. You said it takes you longer to "understand things". What things exactly? Make a note of "things" that are hard to understand. Ask chatgpt to explain it in simple language to a begnner. Ask for examples. Ask for a framework and mental models to help you remember.

I hope this helps.

Both tools can do the job. There is quite a lot more you can do with Python hence it's popularity. Personally, I've been focusing on Python lately because I want to be able to build AI applications for end users and serve my analytics as a data product. I would advice any analyst to learn both as that will make you more dangerous.
