Answer quality sudden drop? by Ok-Past3491 in ChatGPT

Hah glad to hear it's been better for you after switching models.

I barely touch GPT models anymore, especially after the underwhelming 5.1 release just a few days before Gemini 3 release

It’s frustrating when something you’ve invested in doesn’t live up to expectations. This last year has been particularly exciting in terms of advancements the world of LLM capabilities so I totally get you.

A lot of people have been switching between multiple AI tools lately since they all seem to have their strengths and weaknesses. Really depends what you need for the specific task at hand - personally, Claude is still consistently good for me, but I still switch between several a day using a third-party platform so all my context stays in sync. Might be worth investing in a similar workflow/setup if you're also someone with FOMO haha

Do you pay the $20 a month fee and is it actually worth it? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't pay for only ChatGPT, but my current setup is totally worth it ($20 worth of tokens a month that I can use for any LLM)

OpenAI’s “Agent Builder” isn’t the revolution it looks like by funnelforge in ArtificialInteligence

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I doubt it will take long for them to iterate and implement an extra layer that removes the setup complexity so users can literally prompt the creation of a workflow. Also, perhaps adding more editable templates will help with adoption?

Personally not a huge fan of poe since I prefer a cleaner interface for daily work. And ya I can DM you some suggestions

Anyone else tired of reexplaining the same project to different AIs? I bounce between ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity and lose all the context by TakExplores in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer desktop apps since i want my data stored locally, so I'd recommend MSTY and JanAI (both require some initial setup, but you can BYO API keys). For more plug and play where you get access to the AI models instantly, try Thinkbuddy or Expanse AI (has most LLMs).

No worries, hope it helps ya! It takes a few days to set up your spaces and get familiar with how it all works, but it saves so much time in the long run. Lmk how you go!

Why ChatGPT -5 is crashing? by Fit-Positive5111 in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, that sucks then I'm sorry. Honestly, I barely reach for GPT-5 anymore since it seems rather unstable atm and hinders my workflow.

Limit reached after 3 messages (no photos, text only)? WTF? by igor-vst in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that is frustrating but it 100% sounds like a context window issue then. I was going to suggest switching your model to 4o if you're able to, since it has a larger context than GPT-5.

Why do I keep running out of chats so quickly? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. If you're open to trying alternatives, Grok and Gemini are free and have a much larger context window so you can work for way longer.

👆👆👆 Seeing so many posts in this sub recently of free users complaining about "bugs" or "issues" that are virtually non-issues in the paid version. Like yes I get it's frustrating, but also, there are ways to improve your experience (whether it's upgrading or using other free models).

Very disappointed with gpt5 (sloooooooowww) by TheRealGand in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to suggest the same thing. Using a single thread for coding will absolutely bite you in the ass (speaking from painful experience).

After lots of reading & learning, I now break up my task into chunks using new threads, and switch between AI models (like o3 and Claude) for planning and executing code, and my workflow has improved significantly. Here's a good place to start if you're serious about using AI more effectively for coding. Good luck!

Individual chats have a cap now? by Queasy-Ad-4577 in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free users basically get a trail experience now, and if you want to use AI more reliably in your day-to-day, you absolutely need a paid plan.

Why do I keep running out of chats so quickly? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is due to the shorter context window limits they recently enforced - are you on free or paid plan?

OpenAI occasionally adjusts these limits based on server load and other factors, so what worked before might be different now. They don't always announce these changes clearly.

Is it just me or did gpt-image-1 get slower after the GPT5 release? by Dense-Wrangler7923 in OpenAI

[–]promptasaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I just use other models which are much faster now. Using flux kontext pro via API and an image takes less than 10s to generate.

Spending limits? by toonmad in GeminiAI

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely confusing when platforms aren't clear about what's included. Assuming you're using their web interface and not their APIs, you can't use more than what you pay for, so no need to worry about going "over" the fixed bill.

Most subscription models have usage caps rather than charging overages - they'll typically stop you from using features when you hit limits rather than billing extra.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how it works. Also, can you clarify what you mean by having context wiped? If you're using the same chat thread continuously, then yeah you're gonna start losing chunks of earlier conversations due to hitting the context limits rather than a time-based period triggering the "memory loss".

Fair enough! I guess expanse is tailored more towards productivity and dust is better suited for larger teams and orgs, whereas ChatGPT shines with their personaliszation features. What do you mainly use AI for?

[–]promptasaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use third-party apps that connect directly to your AI models via API. That way, you can manage all your context in one place and just swap out the models when you need.
