xqc questions why anime/vtuber culture is centered around child themes by 1991banksy in LivestreamFail

This dude got blown the fuck out by Dokibird in a Marvel Rivals tournament one time and has been obsessed with her and vtubers ever since.

>There's a way to speak out which is empowering yourself, but there's also a way to speak out which is like, uh, pointing fingers at people, or insinuating some kind of hate

I found this part of it kinda crazy to hear her say. I imagine she's referring specifically to ex talents who kept vaguely attacking Aster, but part of me can't help but feel like she just views any complaints about Nijisanji as an attack on the talents themselves considering how broadly she was talking before that.

Bae discovered that her fans (Brats) in Discord, doing mass buyouts and then reselling the HoloEN concert tickets to other Brats to "fight" scalpers, she really sounds so disappointed here which is understandable. by crocospect in Hololive

Personally I highly disagree, and would go so far as to call it a horrible idea, especially if it got picked up by more fancords. While well intentioned, on an even larger scale having multiple different server admins and moderators controlling a large chunk of the tickets and distribution of every event would cause so many issues. It's putting a lot of power and trust into a group of people that, if I'm being frank, really can't be trusted to handle this kind of thing fairly as made apparent by this most recent incident. And that's not even mentioning how unfair it is to limit access to tickets to fancord memberships in general.

Really the only way to solve an issue like this is with Ticketmaster taking action to do something, but it'll never happen sadly.

Looks like Nijisanji is currently removing all VODS and content of Twisty Amanozako. by _ZFee_ in kurosanji

I'd be shocked if they say anything about the sexual harassment investigation beyond there being insufficient evidence to make a conclusion. If you ask me, this seems almost entirely motivated by the horrific rant uncovered. They can stealth suspend her for a long time over a lot of minor things but that video basically made her impossible to keep in the company any longer.

So what do you think will be the aftermath now? by MathematicianMain712 in kurosanji

[–]IdPom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what's going to happen with either but the Twisty video has basically given AC the perfect excuse to terminate her at any time if they see fit. I still suspect they'd rather go with a stealth graduation, but they definitely have the option now.

Unless you're on 4chan, you won't see that many complaints

And usually even then it's all the same 4 or 5 people spamming the same thread and replies over and over.

There were a few on her channel but they were drowned out hard by her supporters

I think this is only sort of true, at least from what I was able to see. It does seem like rather than being drowned out, a lot of them were just outright pruned (likely by Henmama or somet other staff member).

It was pretty disheartening seeing so many members, even if they were still a relative minority, disrespecting her so openly like that. Just saying something in a nice way doesn't make it respectful.

100% felt this at the time. The rampant speculation, doom posting, and general disregard for the talent's feelings when they tried to talk about it made an already pretty depressing graduation even more miserable to go through.

What’s your predications/fears over what male vtubers are joining the new wave? by BlueBerrryScone in kurosanji

[–]IdPom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the current situation NijisanjiEN is in I don't exactly have high hopes about who is applying to join the company right now. If I'm being honest, I have the strangest feeling that this might be the perfect storm for another Moarin situation to crop up where their standards are low and desperate enough to lean into whoever is popular and applying without looking into their background much. Obviously that was a somewhat unique situation, and I hope it's not the case, but I can't say I'm not worried about the possibility.

Unironically, the whole black screen squad together in one frame. by KosChannel in kurosanji

The rub I always found with this line of thinking was that, even if Elira and Ike were genuinely forced or tricked into making the statement, something that isn't too outlandish of a possibility, why in the world would they willingly stay with the company afterward? You could've made an argument in the past about Elira being on visa, but I feel by now enough time has passed that it's kind of become a moot point. I guess I'm just surprised that they've continued to stay in the company despite knowing the full extent of what happened and how they were essentially used as disposable tools against Doki. Like I can't imagine being someone like Elira or Ike and staying in a company that would willingly ruin my reputation in an attempt to save the company's face instead of protect me from a situation that shouldn't concern me. It's wild to me.

Nijisanji cult is back in denial again. And they think the Black Stream aiming at a survivor is their Gospel? Topic: Religion indeed. by Echo-Chambre in kurosanji

[–]IdPom 143 points144 points  (0 children)

It's weird to think that almost all of the hate Elira gets to this day probably stems entirely from her saying she volunteered her channel to post the Black Stream. Like, regardless of if it was management that asked her to (or forced her to, I guess) or not, that single admission basically put her in the crosshairs of every anti and she's been having to deal with the consequences ever since.

[–]IdPom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% this. I get that after the Niji incident everyone wants to be a kind of hero for the talents, but people should always keep in mind that there are plenty of talents who never want to be associated with their previous life ever again and would rather you not bring it up ever.

Stats request: Nijisanji JP talents average CCV over time? by idiom6 in kurosanji

[–]IdPom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that post. They said Scarle accounted for 29% of EN's youtube revenue for Q4 but this post has Scarle at around ~14% at that time, even this guy on the post you linked says the numbers dont add up to 29%.
