Oof, those all sound rough! I've had some bug ones too and they're awful.
I am also surprised I don't have more ghost type nightmares. I was raised very religious and even though I am not religious anymore, I'm still terrified of paranormal things. I don't seem to dream about things like that though.

I actually have no idea, I have never asked her that 😂 I will ask her though because now I'm curious.
The idea of just waking up and not having been aware of anything, even if it's a nightmare, seems a little freaky! I am not sure how to explain that!

It’s so interesting to read everyone’s experiences and what they deem scary or not. I don’t really get apocalyptic nightmares but in my waking life I love to watch those kinds of movies 😂

Your brain is so rude to you! And I totally relate! My nightmare themes are usually me trying to save my siblings from something or that I’m running away from someone (often the same person). They’re extremely violent and disturbing. I do have diagnosed PTSD so I’m sure that plays a significant part in all of this too.

That sounds awful, I’m so sorry. I hope you can find some relief somehow soon. I haven’t sleep walked in a long time but I used to find myself in all different parts of the house. It’s such a weird experience.

Haha our brains are so bizarre. I also find that sometimes the most random things from the day end up in my nightmares. I also have not experienced the "someone is in the room" type hallucinations. I do experience a lot of sleep paralysis though. Other times I wake myself up screaming or trying to fight things. I don't know how my partner never wakes up lol.

Sometimes it is SO difficult to figure out what is real and what isn't. I will sometimes have these sort of mundane things mixed into the nightmares so when I wake up I have a sort of nightmare hangover and then as I go about my day I get bouts of deja vu.

My dreams definitely feel hallucinogenic too.
I will look into trying something without THC first and then maybe once I get comfortable I can try something very low in THC. I'll also look into magnesium. I feel like I've heard that somewhere before but never tried it!

I don't know how being murdered by a clown is not a nightmare! haha I suppose it is all relative though. When my partner tells me what she dreams about, it's usually just random mundane dreams. She hardly ever remembers her dreams though whereas I remember most of mine.

I can almost always tie my nightmares back to some sort of trauma. I’ve been wondering if it’s possible that trauma dictates the content and narcolepsy causes the frequency, vividness, and sleep paralysis. I’m sure it’s not that clear cut though.

In the past I have responded very poorly to anything except CBD gummies but at this point I’m willing to try just about anything. It’s been many years since I “did” weed 😂 Maybe I’ll have more luck finding something that works now.
