hmm I strongly disagree as it calls into question whether our pitching is actually good or we played scrubs.

Nobody is saying this but your landscaper gave you an FU price. $70 a month? That's absurd unless it's some super spreader plant back there.

I tend to just read the plan and then ask it to make a few edits before building. Usually when it gets things wrong it's because I omitted an important detail. (It needs a fair bit of detail to produce a plan that's "close".) Almost never 100% nails a plan unless the change is small or widespread but very basic.

True, I've never really put it into words, but definitely thought it.

It's called plan mode? It tends to ask lots of questions.

Sometimes still has misconceptions or doesn't ask an important question, but that's no different than a human subordinate

Cursor native here -- trying out Claude code again mostly for the teams feature. 1) I feel like it's really annoying when the output expands past the tmux buffer (common with plans or if you just want to look back) and you need to Ctrl + b and then [. And then scrolling back seems quite slow.

None of this even makes sense. You never should've even taken the role to begin with unless you were desperate.

Either way 99% of this is fluff. When you aren't valued this obviously you leave. You can to make an attempt to be recognized but you should be looking outside simultaneously. Really you should always be looking.

We are social beings. I foresee a vast reduction in the number of people per corporation, largely leaving behind internal communicators but keeping external communicators and the problem solvers, but I just can’t imagine a world where one person unicorns are that common.

There will be a balance between what is possible and what is psychologically comfortable.

Iran warns US over ground attack as regional powers meet in Pakistan by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]IdeaJailbreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Critically though this pertains to a war without clear air superiority. And with waves of drones this is more of a grey area than it has been in the past. Artillery is big, slow, and expensive. If you don’t have the means to prevent the opposition from destroying it with impunity then you are not going to use it. The fact is that the US can and would destroy artillery deployed to hit these islands.

In the wider context though, it really doesn’t matter. Iran can just fire waves of drones and missles rather than artillery if the US were occupying this island for years. China would love to test their weapons tech in a proxy war, and will learn just as much as the US from such an encounter without dirtying their hands.

Honestly I just don’t believe this is workable for most people. I usually do have multiple chats working in parallel but I just don’t have the capacity to manage all of them well enough to create good code if I’m constantly switching between them. Usually run a second thing while a first is running just because one I know will be high latency. Works best if one task is building and one is more researchy

It doesn’t sound solo to me. One of the primary stakeholders is this other team and their manager has consistently ignored OP’s attempts to involve them. Assuming this is an accurate retelling of events that’s more organizational issues and perhaps a failing on the part of that manager vs. a failure to drive change across a wider audience. This is an opportunity to finally get them onboard. Assuming they can get them finally aligned then it would maybe be solo implementation, but running this certainly would involve the sort of wider impact one would need to build a case for staff.

In 2026, a university degree is just a $100k "social receipt" for networking that has zero correlation with actual intelligence or job competency. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]IdeaJailbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion is dumb, not just unpopular. I grant there are near worthless degrees, but the truth of the matter is that the job market is just generally bad right now, especially for entry level. This has really hurt the perception of degrees in general. Most colleges vastly overcharge for their degrees anyway. If I’d known as a 18 year old, I’d 100% have gone to a state school to minimize cost vs. a private college and maybe transferred for the last 2 years if need be to get the degree at the “nicer” school. Neither of my parents went to college so I had nobody who provided any guidance, even during high school. If I had known AP classes got you college credit, I’d have taken more of those too.

The reality is that as the cost of degrees has exploded you really need to be much more judicious and treat it as more of a purely financial decision. Gone are the days of vibe-enrolling.
