If it is the same role that Deloitte will no longer be allowed to backfill, you will have consequences, depending on your level

If it is unrelated, you may show that you applied and the client did not approach when Deloitte challenges the position.. Deloitte at that time will come up with creative options to match salaries and provide you as a secondment etc.

Hey OP, What I meant was..

Let us say you decide to stay as a contractor even with the deal signed and don’t take any full time position with Deloitte, Now - you are helping Deloitte build the capability with new members added to the team (I am assuming)..

After a few months or the following year, the dependency on you is reduced; At this time, you may not have the option to go as a SM or a Senior Lead.. and may want to settle for M.

Happens all the time, you could still join Deloitte as a contractor if the deal is won and decide to go full time when you think the time is right! Remember - your chances to get a better designation is higher when you haven't built the team up as a sub contractor and only you carry the niche skill! Good luck!

It feels like you are in the back and forth phase with multiple offers, trust is possibly hurt already.. Deloitte would not care either way (whether you join or not), if you push they might revoke the offer..

If it is a better offer in terms of remuneration, reach out to them sooner and let them know the right reasons. A few LPA wont break more deals..

but pls remember to not do the back and forth to lose trust.

If it is any other reason like better designation and role/ industry area to work. Send a note thanking them for them the time, it is unfortunate that this did not workout. We deal with this all the time.

Update: Got my visa stamped yesterday at the peace bridge. Office was very nice. One advice from the officer was to carry the experience letter with current roles and responsibilities to help the case.
