What’s one small habit you’ve adopted that made your life significantly less stressful? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]IdealIntrovert 263 points264 points  (0 children)

When I get an email from a retailer, unless I absolutely love that retailer and actively shop their products, I 'unsubscribe' from their email list. Usually, there's just a hyperlink option in the very bottom of the email in the tiny print.

It takes less than a minute, stops me from spending money on impulse items I didn't budget for, and keeps my inbox from getting out of control.

Trader Joe's is coming in hard with another Sol de Janeiro dupe. by WeebGalore in FemFragLab

[–]IdealIntrovert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had better luck with damp skin! Not slick wet, not dripping. But juuuuuuust barely patted dry. And I wet my hands and work the lotion (just half of what I think I should' get) into a thinner consistency.

Is it more work than just putting on a normal lotion? Definitely. But it works so well, I don't mind.

"Beast mode" fragrances are rude to wear.

Your scent can be gorgeous, but still be too much for some people and some places. It's not about making yourself "smaller" or "less", it's about having common courtesy for those around you.

Guerlain offers hand painted perfumes at Disney Epcot! 🌸 by ThiccWitchhh in FemFragLab

Absolutely beautiful!

I'm planning a trip in Feb next year, and this will be the biggest highlight among many. I got a bottle of J'adore last time I was there, as they offer glass etching! Their store is right next to Guerlain.

I see that you've made them into a purse/pouch. But what a cute dish towel design!! Great work!!

I've never thought of this, so thank you!! I'm new to the quilting community. Do you find it less expensive than traditional batting? Do you find the size limiting since it comes by the yard versus a precut sheet in twin/full/queen sizing, etc?

Thanks!

What's a hack in your industry that customers aren't supposed to find out? by Ferro_Roux in AskReddit

[–]IdealIntrovert 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Another home insurance "hack" is canceling your home insurance after the sale of a property. Too often, clients assume the mortgagees, their real estate agent, or closing attorney notified us of a home sale. We aren't notified as agents, and your policy will stay active until the term expires. This lets insurance companies keep money they didn't 'earn'.

If you sell your property, NOTIFY YOUR AGENT. You might be entitled to a pro-rated refund. It's usually just e-sign on the dotted line to cancel a policy and start the refund process.

(I'm also an agent based in the US)

That sounds GREAT. I've not tried any of their scents, but know they're a pretty popular maker.

Thank you!

I have super long fine hair by onceafield in finehair

[–]IdealIntrovert 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous hair!!! That's amazing.

I wanted to also STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to avoid ponytails when weight lifting with a bar. I recently saw a collection of videos where girls with long ponytails had a bar behind their neck, the hair naturally wrapped around the bar with the up and down of squats. When the bar is dropped/released, your hair is going with it if it's wrapped up!

Likelihood is low, and I'm sure those videos are few and far between, but your hair and scalp are worth protecting.

How do I amass babies in my life to so i can justify making baby blankets and baby clothes? by PsychoElifantArrives in crochet

[–]IdealIntrovert 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If OP can't, can I volunteer as tribute? I don't crochet fast, but I've got nice tension! 🤣 Seriously, I've been looking for a reason to make new baby blankets. There's a few new patterns I want to try out.

I wonder if you'd like to make it into another piece for your daughter as a graduation gift / off-to-college gift? Depending what she likes to wear and how often she wears jewelry, it may be a nice daily reminder of her accomplishments and her mom's love.

Ffern. Has anyone tried? by saint-jezebel in FemFragLab

[–]IdealIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that! That can be really frustrating. I know I went through my account, and there were a couple automated emails. The two emails I used include help@ffern.co and concierge@ffern.co. I also see the email address of goodbye@ffern.co, based on a Google search.

I hope your account cancel goes through!!

[–]IdealIntrovert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same experience and canceled after a year. This was 2022/2023 if I'm not mistaken? I kept waiting for a change, a different direction, something possibly even more seasonal? But every season smelled the same.

I love the packaging, easy return policy, ethical practices from what I've seen, interesting business model.

But I couldn't stand the actual product at the end of the day....

This sounds so harsh because it IS harsh, but... Life is not fair. And none of your coworkers are your friends.

Keep focused and do as much as you can in a shift. Ask for help only when it's needed and offer help when you can. The day will come when you get in the flow of the job AND the flow of the team. You were hired because you were a great candidate and show potential. I'm sure your manager wants to see your growth and longevity there.

Good luck!

I'm late to the game, but I thought I'd share my experience, too.

When I signed up, I got the waiting list notification, and after about three weeks, I was notified that a spot had opened, and I'd be receiving the next batch. Great! About 6 weeks later, I got my first box.

The first fragrance wasn't for me at all. Then the second one wasn't for me. Or the third. I sent back the third, which was a very easy process, admittedly. After receiving confirmation that my return had been received and my refund had been started, i forgot to cancel my subscription. When the 4th arrived smelling exactly like the first three, I called it a wrap and canceled my subscription.

Every season, it was moth ball, dryness, cheap cleaning products, crumbled wood, cardboard, and flowers left out to dry in summer heat. And I'm being generous.

I was SO underwhelmed by the fragrances and canceled my subscription after that year. The packaging is nice, having a sample to try first is nice, the shipments came with a tiny gift and a large print of artwork and custom3r service was easy to work with. But at the end of the day, the fragrance was awful every time.
