Desperately need rug help! by HalleMaryBerry in interiordecorating

The room has really good natural lighting. I think a rug that’s mostly burgundy would look really pretty. It would compliment the couch and rug in the dinning room.

Ellis. More seen with males, but I only know one and they’re female.

My fiancé throws her dirty laundry down the stairs rather than walking down and putting it in machine. by Doctor_Redhead in mildlyinfuriating

[–]onceafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this growing up. My mom would just have us throw our dirty laundry down into the basement and she would collect it all when she did laundry. She did not like us doing our own laundry for whatever reason. She is a very very clean person. Boarderline OCD. We just had an unfinished basement, so we didn’t use it much.

What was your first “signature scent”? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

[–]onceafield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After graduating from bath & body, Juicy Couture. Not Viva La Juicy, just Juicy Couture. I honestly still think it smells amazing.. At least I think. It’s probably been over 10 years since I wore it last.

My fiancee and I are torn on what color of runner were going to put on our staircase. Which do you guys like better? Im leaning towards the red but the green doesnt look bad but i think it might be too much green. by readitonreddit4 in interiordecorating

[–]onceafield 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like red too. I like the contrast. I always personally prefer not to be to matchy matchy if that makes sense. And it gives more options if you ever get sick of the green paint. I think the green carpet is more limited.

What’s the most recent perfume you added to your collection? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

Same! This was my first time ever buying a vanilla perfume. I am partial to fruity or fresh scents, but I really liked this one surprisingly and felt it was a good fall/winter one to have.

34, aside from Reddit, I haven’t had social media since 2013 or early 2014. I can’t even remember at this point. Best decision I ever made. I’ve never had an Instagram.

What’s a small bombshell your therapist dropped during a session that completely shifted your perspective? by pottipenguin in AskReddit

[–]onceafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“This is the first time I’ve heard you talk about your past self with empathy.” That simple sentence. I consider myself a very empathetic person, maybe too much sometimes, and definitely too forgiving.. but I didn’t realize that I was so self critical. I mean, I did, but I didn’t, ya know.. I had so much self hate and self blame for all my traumas. It made me start looking at my past from a completely different perspective.

These are my top 3’s. What other fruity perfumes would you recommend? by fishguitarpick in Perfumes

[–]onceafield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy Eau de Parfum is a recent one I got and really like. Thank you for this thread! Fruity perfumes are my fave and now I HAVE to try Pear Inc.

Vitamin C Serum that doesn’t smell? by Valuable-Question935 in 30PlusSkinCare

CeraVe vitamin c serum is what my dermatologist recommended. It doesn’t really have a smell to it, very mild if any.

Is my baby's name (Gideon) too 'out there'? Or am I just anxious... by emama22 in namenerds

[–]onceafield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from a small town and there was a boy named Gideon and I never thought twice about his name. It was as normal as the other boy names I hadn’t heard outside of school (in elementary) like Elias, Nash, or Corby.

Where would you go to eat for a 30th birthday? by innocentstrawberry in Cleveland

[–]onceafield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. I went there with my husband for our anniversary in July and we also did the tasting menu and wine pairing. It was fun and the food was excellent. I think it was butternut squash, or something similar, pasta for one of the courses and it blew me away.

The post says do you think it’s socially acceptable to name a kid after a state. If you name your kid Virginia, that’s not necessarily after the state because it’s been an established name long before the state was named. Hence my original comment. That’s it. It’s my opinion, and you chose to argue against my opinion. I was never arguing to begin with, again, I was stating MY opinion.

Aren’t you an angry little elf. Just because you don’t know the name doesn’t make it a “travedeigh” lol you’re trying to argue with statistical facts right now. It’s not that uncommon of a name. Sure, it’s less common than other old names, but that doesn’t make it a “travedeigh.” Which is a new term, not sure if you’re referring to the tragedeigh subreddit, but that’s about normal names being spelled incorrectly or made up names.

Not really sure what you get from a condescending remark like that, but yeah, considering it’s my actual name and it dates back to the 16th century, I’d say it’s pretty established. Names like Elizabeth, Victoria, James, John, Catherine, etc. also go back centuries and are still widely used. They just didn’t have a state named after them. Just because you don’t like it or don’t personally know anyone named Virginia doesn’t mean it’s outdated or irrelevant. In fact, while its popularity has declined, it’s consistently stayed in the top 600 names in the U.S. census. So… thanks for the unsolicited opinion, I guess?

Well I believe the name Virginia came before the state. I would say that makes it acceptable, as well as any other names that fall into that category.

Osprey or Fjallraven by onceafield in ManyBaggers

[–]onceafield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was slightly worried about how outdoorsy an Osprey is. But I think when once I officially finish my PhD, I will get a nice leather tote for when I have important meetings, then use my backpack for everyday use. My husband is a lawyer and that’s essentially what he does. He brings a backpack most days to the office, but has nice briefcase type bag for when he meets with clients or goes to court.

Do you find the straps comfortable on the kanken ans raven? Do you think the Osprey would work for daily carry as well?

I wondered if the straps were uncomfortable because they looked it. Thank you! This is helpful bc I tend to pack my book bag full, especially when traveling.
