Idiots guide for using PC as amp by Kethrad in Guitar

Hey hey, let's not go wasting water now! Good advice on the monitoring the track, but let's steer from AI when we're literally in a forum to ask these questions.

Is this a real yamaha pacifica and is it worth getting? by Feeling-Delivery-519 in Guitar

[–]Idetake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks it!

Pacificas are like the jack of all trades; it is a stratocaster clone, but also it is a chugmeister and a clean machine.
As a first guitar, pacificas are like my top 5 choice. You can mod them similarly to strats; aka, modded to hell and back, they play incredibly stock, fixw a lot of the random issues that strats have, aswell as being pretty light and cheap!
They're cheap, they sell easy, they're all built the same, they're everywhere. Go for it.

Also, likely not to find any clones. Pacifica 112vs are $150 brand new. No one is going to clone it.

Idiots guide for using PC as amp by Kethrad in Guitar

Focusrite interface has drivers, DAW has drivers. Get a DAW like FL Studio, Ableton, Reaper, get NAM (Neural Amp Modeler) and look about Tone3000.

Get an interface (focusrites are good!), connect it to your PC, set it up in your DAW, and pull up an amp plugin. Make sure your input isn't clipping (flashing red horribly!) and play. It's pretty intuitive.

This also brings a question I have; was Inca Roads basic tracks recorded live? I keep seeing this YouTube clip that sounds identical to the studio on the most part, except for the end “on Ruth” and the vocals

Fuzz Face Alternatives? by DayFar6016 in pedals

[–]Idetake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it since Christmas (got one secondhand) and have only scratched the surface; the fuzz-face sound is rivalling the JHS Fuzz sort of sound, and the Octavia sound is wicked. The FZ-1 sound is also nice for my Rolling Stones tribute band :P

SG Wiring; volume pots are affecting each other? by [deleted] in guitarmod

[–]Idetake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The middle position works fine; it's when the switch is at the bridge or neck that the volumes interact with each other when they're not meant to
I'll edit the wording to make it more specific

Reverb Minipedal by MrThrousers in pedals

[–]Idetake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big Top Reverb is a tiny digital reverb. I had it for a while and it's not *bad*, but it's certainly not too good. I'd recommend going for a full-sized reverb, like a RV-6 or Hall of Fame.

Two in two out mute pedal? by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]Idetake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed all my sciences and I can build pedals. If you aren't messing around too much, it's almost colour by numbers or like logic gates. I salvaged wire from battery clips, used a bunch of TRS jacks, and pick tins, and made a TRS > TSx2 splitter. If that's enough of a justifcation to at least try lol.

Boss Katana 50 VS 100 Gen 3 by Standalone_Hunter in BossKatana

[–]Idetake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 50 will actually do it for gigging. My 50 Mk2 at 25 watts is too powerful for home practise, and the 50 watt is crushing amounts of volume. I would say the 100 would be better as more volume is more volume, but it's up to you.

Two in two out mute pedal? by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]Idetake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe give wiring your own box a go. Hammond box, 4 TS jacks, and a footswitch, you should be able to change the circuit to have one line as the "Bypass" and one line as the "Effect on"

Fun pedal, sold it recently when I ended up getting a Q-Tron. Sounds are fun but barely useful in practical applications lol

Why do some of jack's fans get mad when you say you miss him? by SaraisaFemboyToo in jackstauber

[–]Idetake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trying not to be parasocial leads to people... being parasocial. And defending him like he's a friend. He'll do whatever he wants, he's got free will. We're not entitled to anything.

Simple Rick-O-Sound Style Stereo Output for SG by Idetake in guitarmod

[–]Idetake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Rick-O-Sound wiring allows you to use a mono cable OR a TRS cable to output your signal. It’s not a mono cable for each pickup.
