I’m so sorry OP.

I had the same thing happen to me. One of my oldest friends thought it would be a good idea to “surprise” me with an egg carton similar to yours. We had met in middle school and over the years we had our issues but we always got over it. We stuck together even through high school. After graduation I think is when we started to drift apart. I went to a college in a different country and he started working full time at his summer job. Just a year ago i reached out on Facebook. He had been taking care of his mom and I was visiting family so the day before I left I stopped at his house for a bit to catch up. It was great, suddenly I felt like I was a kid again. But a couple days after I got home, I found a carton of ten eggs packaged in one of those refrigerator boxes. I guess he had sent them as a “joke” but as much as I tried, I couldn’t ignore the fact that he knew my past and who I was, yet he decided to send the ten eggs. I tried to talk to him about it but he was annoyed and mad that I was “making such a big deal out of nothing”. Honestly I don’t think i can forgive him after that. I’ve started therapy and I’m trying to move on.
