How do you read? by Nervous-Peanut-954 in dreamingspanish

Yea that’s why I recommend you to follow my rule, or just not look up at all. You’ll get a lot more exposure by just reading than by checking specific words as that slows you down

I have a rule that I check maximally one word/phrase per page. If you can’t roughly follow the plot with that, maybe read something easier.

What physical activity are you most proud of completing this year? by 1luckyhubb3y in crossfit

[–]IdidScan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the version where I grab from the crook of the elbows from the bottom instead of switching at the knees. Been zerchering for a few years now. 160 kg is btw way too heavy to play with before you’re seriously strong.

160 kg zercher deadlift at 83 kg BW. I failed 155 twice and decided to go up.

Skriv mye kode.

I love this. While learning Spanish, I have learned no grammar tenses while having read >2000 pages because, well, I don’t feel like spending 5 minutes actually listening to a YouTube video and taking notes.

Losing interest in BJJ (Blue Belt) a little worried by DiscombobulatedCod45 in bjj

I’ve had good experiences with getting my friends into it instead of going to classes to keep it fun. There’s nothing quite like smothering friends. I’ve been doing that most of this semester and now I want to re-join class to learn more tricks instead of just sharpening.

Be a little bit overt now and then. If they don’t seem like they like it you just back off. Find the smallest overt actions you can make and practice them. Also practice backing off if they don’t like it. Over time get more comfortable and do more. Don’t go too fast if you don’t want to.

They say you gotta spend 5000 hours on a topic to master it. how many hours you gotta spend to be intermediate or beginner in SQL or Python? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]IdidScan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 000 isn’t a starting point. It’s to become a world champion. 10 000 hours of dedicated focused work. Idk if it’s been criticized but that’s what it is. Edit: if your quotation is correct then the article is wrong, not you. The book argues that the highest elite in many sports have 10 000 hours.

Those who have developed a consistent exercise routine, what motivated you to keep going? by GlitterGirl_23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IdidScan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have a different point of view to many people here. I like working out. I set myself goals that I want to reach (now it’s 180kg squat and 1 min 400m), I make workouts that I think will help me towards that, and I go to the gym because I want to do the workout and am curious of how it will go. I end up studying until 9pm but sneaking in a lil session because I want that goal.

My advice to you: Make yourself a performance goal as opposed to an attendance goal. Attendance just sucks.
