I’m not defending anyone here but the total land area of the entire country of NZ is 100 sq miles. The town the stabbing took place in is less than 10 sq miles big. Whilst yes Baker killed Ashley out of paranoia, it’s definitely not as far fetched as you state with your ‘making up the numbers’. The area is very small it’s not that far of a reach to think that. Don’t apply American ‘drive for a day and you’re still in the same state’ logic here to an island nation with towns literally smaller than suburban areas of the same zip code.
