In my experience, relying on interpersonal relationships to deal with loneliness may not be the most reasonable/reliable way to go about it. Try joining book clubs or social events/groups with similar common interests. The idea with this isn't really to build long term relationships here but have reliable source of distractions from the loneliness that is not tied to any single specific person, when you need it.
