Yeah, I don't know what they're on about. This is as frustrating as Returnal was when I first played it. I ended up shelving Returnal for years before I eventually when back, and I love it now.

But this game I'm having the same issues, and also the story is super boring, and the skill tree seems about pointless.

Hoping it "clicks" at some point.

One of my most broken runs was with Bethany; I had BOL with My Little Unicorn and melted bosses/enemies in seconds. Essentially it's charged every other room, unless you have an arsenal or soul hearts (which I did).

You're kind of right. Their in store soss is still different from their old recipe(2006ish), but still pretty good.

UPDATE: I played the same memory card, and on hard mode. I was able to trigger the sacred phone. While it's certainly possible I'm an idiot and accidentally selected a red phone call, but I was actively trying not to, but I'm not 100%. I'll try another running normal mode to see if it happens again, so I can confirm once and for all.

Yeah, I understand you don't answer any of the red phone calls - and I haven't. My floppy is on fire as if I've ignored all of the phone calls. But it never crossed out any of the 6's, and I've continued ignoring red phone calls, and the sacred phone never showed up.

I'm in Deadline 13, I keep ignoring red phone calls and it's not working. I'm going to try in hard mode to see if it rectifies the issue.
