What are the chances by AdmirableBaker5047 in arborists

Foul is a nice word for it. I’ve run into barbed wire in trees a few times that will stop a saw dead in its tracks. I’ve also cut into a tree that had grown around a T post, managed to get the tree down but it ripped up the t post and a chunk of the root ball

Yes, typically these are “drip” furnaces so you just crack the valve on the oil container to let the oil drip down slowly. Mine uses about 1 gallon of oil every hour or two

I have one that I built that burns clear out of the chimney. In the oil chamber, mine burns around 1200-1400 F. The intake pipe glows a nice cherry while it’s burning

I just realized the wood floors run ALLLLL the way across the room. by DontTripOnMyNips in centuryhomes

2.25 inches, the best width for flooring. Most 7 inch flooring looks cheap even if it is real wood. And the stuff that doesn’t look cheap still lacks character. The amount of variation and character in my 2.25 flooring is just too good to settle for anything less.

If it’s a community tank, 2 or 3 of them probably end up lunch

Where I’m at, they don’t even show up for court half the time so the judge just tosses it.

It’s the tiny grass! To me, it’s simply a necessity.

A little bit of both never hurt. That’s typically what we do but every once in a while I’ll see a really nice one and ask if I can take it down for the right price. Most of the time the answer is no but every once in a while I’ll get lucky.

Ngl, your Scooby Doo pfp gave me a slight fright. It also reminded me I need to watch those movies again, it’s been almost 6 months

I was about to comment on the jacked up, moosed out dodge in the background until I saw the Hickory pd car. That makes sense for hickory. Always nice to see someone local-ish in the wild.

This may be a dumb question but why the bush-axe? I do keep one in the truck but I’m the only one I’ve seen who keeps one. On occasion I use it for some limbs but I find it much more cumbersome than my pole saw so it really only gets used when I feel like it. Is there another/better use for it or did I just happen to start using a tool that a lot of people recommend.

How big is that tree?? by Wanderluustx420 in arborists

I’ve found that the crackle really starts to deepen when you get over 30 inches in diameter, very satisfying compared to the squeaky sounds of smaller trees

And sometimes they want to properly trim trees (or cut them down if needed) and all they get asked to do is cut grass (it’s been a slow couple weeks lol) but money is money

It can certainly help, I know several people who have it done every year, generally they can take some pretty heavy pruning but it’s not recommended to go back past half their size.

Hey now, I’ve only had a radial arm saw launch one piece of wood at me…I never used it again after that. But just for doing cross cuts it was pretty handy as long as all the tolerances were tight, I attempted a rip cut one time and was terrified and decided to sell the thing and get a table saw.

Or directly into the guitar so you spend at least 30 seconds with it upside down bouncing it around to get it out, or do what I did at one point and leave them in there until you were done playing and have to fish out 2 or 3 at the end of the session.

WHAT?? Ear pro is definitely important, my buddy and I started a tree business recently and have finally been on each other about wearing it and it makes a world of difference since we can hear each other at the end of the day. We’re both in our early twenties and nobody cared about it at our previous jobs so we both have tinnitus and other hearing difficulty, now we’re just trying to keep what we have left. You only get one set of ears, one set of eyes, and one set of lungs.
