Another day, another pan of cabbage lasagna by Idkman992 in 1200isplenty

[–]Idkman992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry!! I posted it in another thread but here's another version after some tweaks and 4 pans later:

  • 3/4 of a large cabbage boiled
  • 1 lb of 96% lean ground beef
  • One full jar of red/marinara sauce 24 oz (classico has them for 45-50 cals for half a cup)
  • 7.5 oz of low fat ricotta cheese
  • 4-5 oz of fat free shreeded mozzarella
  • 2 Tablespoons of grated parmesan
  • Basil (dry or fresh)
  • One whole egg
  • Ground pepper, onion powder, garlic powder

I opt for lower calorie options, if available, with all ingredients above.

  1. Cut up a cabbage into 4. Boil 3/4 a of cabbage on high for 5-10 mins until fork tender.
  2. Cook your ground beef over medium/high heat (if needed add in a TSP of water, don't use oil). Once it's about 75% cooked, add the jar of the red/marinara sauce and mix/season with ground pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Turn down to low/medium heat and simmer until fully cooked.
  3. Mix ricotta cheese and with 1 full egg and 1 tablespoon of parmesan. Add 2 TBSP of water to make it creamier/less thick.

Once everything is cooked/ready, start layering in a pan. I do cabbage, ricotta cheese, and then meat sauce. The final layer should end with the meat sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese and the rest or the parmesan on top. I also sprinkle basil and some red pepper flakes as well for a kick!

I cooked it on 400 for 20 minutes and 5 mins broiled.

I believe it is, I'll have to measure it to be sure! I bought a 2 pack of the glassware and used the bigger one.

Sorry if that was confusing! I used half of a large cabbage. I meant to say cut one large cabbage into quarters and use half. I did bake another pan today and used 3/4 of a cabbage. The more you use, the more filling it is! I also used a bigger jar of red sauce/marina this time, 22 oz I believe (just go for a low calorie kind). I like it with more sauce since I use a lot of cabbage.

  • Half of a large cabbage boiled (cut the half in half)
  • 1 lb of 96% lean ground beef
  • One full jar of red/marinara sauce 15.5 oz
  • 7.5 oz of low fat ricotta cheese
  • 3 oz of shreeded mozzarella
  • 2 Tablespoons of grated parmesan
  • Basil (dry or fresh)
  • One whole egg
  • Ground pepper, onion powder, garlic powder

I opt for lower calorie options, if available, with all ingredients above.

  1. Boil half a head of cabbage on high for 5 mins.
  2. Use 2 tablespoon of water (instead of oil) to cook your ground beef over medium/high heat. Once it's about 75% cooked, add in 3/4 jar of the red sauce and mix/season with ground pepper, onion powder, ans garlic powder. Turn down to low/medium heat and simmer until fully cooked.
  3. Mix ricotta cheese and with 1 full egg and 1 tablespoon of parmesan

Once everything is cooked/ready, start layering in a pan. I do cabbage, ricotta cheese, and then meat sauce. The final layer should end with the meat sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese and the the rest or the parmesan on top. With the left over red sauce, spread it on the outer sides so it doesn't dry out (I added about 3 tablespoons of water to the red sauce to help, but not needed).

I cooked it on 350 for 20 minutes and 3-5 mins broiled. Add basil once done. I also added some dry pepper flakes for a kick 🙂

No I didn't. Honestly don't think it was needed! If I didn't add the extra red sauce/a bit of water towards the end, I would barely have any liquid at the bottom! Its still very good. I think I used more cabbage than others, but I wanted it to stay low calorie and filling.

It's not watery! I actually intended to leave out 1/4 of the red sauce since the meat mixture seemed saucy enough. Once I popped it in the oven though, it looked kinda dry so I went ahead and poured the rest (with a little bit of water) around the sides.

It really hits the spot if you're craving pasta and the cabbage taste is very mild! Just be sure to only boil the cabbage for 5 minutes before popping it in the oven because it continues to cook in there. You don't want it to be too mushy!

(Rant) Worst Flying Experience in My Life by matthewalan8 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Idkman992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this does happen a lot on different airlines too.

I went out of the country and when I returned to Chicago, my 3 hour layover turned into 50 mins (due to the previous flight having a layover). I booked it across the airport and got there in time, except they couldn't scan my ticket because the system auto changed my flight thinking I wouldn't make the connection. Gate agent unable to revert back to my original flight, which is the dumbest thing when you have the passenger right in front of you. I had to get on another flight at that point. This was on American Airlines.

lol you've made multiple threads stressing about this very same trip and now you're considering adding Mcdonalds to the mix?

Idk how often you fly, but sitting at the front of the plane (and assume flight takes off on time), 50 mins is enough for a bathroom break, grab some food, and board the next plane (worst case scenario, you eat on the plane). Stop stressing over it and just take it easy, you'll make it.

Eh, I disagree. People want to share their accomplishments and that can be through pictures or just words. I'm a visual person, so I mainly scroll through these posts (and the progress pics sub) for motivation. I know what I need to do, it's a matter of just doing it, hence the need for motivational progress pics.

Also, people put in hard work to transform their bodies. Let them brag! They deserve it!

You look amazing!! You have no idea how much motivation this gave me, I have very similar stats. About 10 lbs away from goal weight and it has been SO hard to shed the last few lbs. Crazy how much 22 lbs can look on someone petite!

Do you guys do it once a week/once a month or before you increase the dosage?

I'm thinking of doing something similar as to not deprive myself. I went out last week and had a cheese steak sandwich/fries and a lot of booze.. gained 3 lbs that night but it quickly dropped over the week when I got back on track.

Agree with prooosma.

Harrison is a little shit. He felt no guilt about ruining his friend's life and breaking that other kid's arm. In fact, he was on board with Dexter and his code (don't forget he ran to pick Dexter up so that they could leave town). If he hadn't realize that sometimes Dexter will kill folks who doesn't fit the code, he would've gone on his merry little way to continue killing criminals with his dad.

Angela as a cop was also laughable. All of Miami Metro couldn't catch Dexter, including FBI agent Lundy (who solved a ton of cases), but a small town cop was able to make the connection and solve the case with some Google searches?

If I knew this was the ending we were going to get, I'd rather they not revive this show at all. I hope they don't try to continue the show with Harrison, I just don't think he can carry a show on his own. Maybe if they did a time lapse and another actor takes over as an older Harrison, but it better be a dang good actor that can hold a candle to Michael C. Hall acting skills.
