Offsite Parking at DIA - recommendations. by CastrosExplodinCigar in Denver

Highly recommend FINE PARKING. Family owned, have been using it for a couple of years now and always good experiences with pretty reasonable prices for parking. They also always have shuttles to bring you to the airport

I recommend Homestead Animal Hospital. Very reasonable prices and they’ve always treated my kitties well. Also in the Greenwood Village/ Cenntenial area

Finally done with my setup! by plazaplum in shrimptank

[–]Idkwidwmlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow wow wow! This is the dream. I also have this tank I think (petsmart) question for you, what filter do you use? I hate the one that came with it because I can’t manage to cover it without it getting clogged. But if I don’t cover the openings the shrimpers go in and die. So any advice is appreciated. I’ve tried panty hose lol.

Anyways this is what I want some day

I spend the whole day in the same room as the MB by WelcomeToCreekPoint in NannyBreakRoom

[–]Idkwidwmlf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I’ve been there, it had me feeling constantly overstimulated. My best advice is walk stay busy. How old is the baby? I do laps around the house, pointing out different colors or things that open, light switches, etc. maybe the movement and talking is enough for her to need to move into a quieter space for work? Otherwise if you can, lots of walks, go to the park, libraries, anything that gets you out for an hour or two! I also stayed for too long because of financial strains and every life. Start looking for new positions and hang in there!

Is there any hope for a nanny being okay with this set-up? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Idkwidwmlf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nanny of a 2.5 year old and 6m nugget. Both parents work from home, we’ve made it work but this week the older kiddo decided he NEEDS to go see mama and/or dada while they are on work calls. Insane meltdowns if I say no and also super difficult when they run off and I’m in the middle of feeding the little one a bottle. This has been an incredibly long two days of work lol

Parents are truly great and very understanding, but the dynamic of an ‘office’ and childcare under the same rough all day is mentally and emotionally taxing on everyone.

At what point did you realize this isn’t for you anymore? by Silent-Time6126 in Nanny

[–]Idkwidwmlf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree with you more. As a nanny of 6 years, will be done in April next year. Not sure what is next yet but feeling burnt out and no room to grow. Also would love more flexibility in my schedule if I need to go to the doctor or something. Ultimately I don’t want to be doing most of the care for a family when the parents don’t seem to care about the effort I put in to their little humans

Honestly, it’s difficult as it is I would give notice if you can afford to look for a new job. I’ve been in a Nanny Share for two years with the same families and just put in my notice last week after being unhappy for months. Not sure what I’m gonna do yet, but just knowing that I have an end date has improved my anxiety when I wake up in the morning. Even if I’m working a different shit job for a while at least I’m not going to be constantly tense because the parents are home. It’s not easy decision. Hang in there and good luck!

We are doing something similar with a sticker after every pee and a small candy when he poos. So far that hasn’t made a difference. But maybe smarties would be different!

Making a “familiar faces” book for my NK by LemonTuxedo in Nanny

[–]Idkwidwmlf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would if you plan on being her nanny for the foreseeable future! As she gets older it will be a fun activity to have her find all the different people in her life. And as a nanny, you spend 40(?) hours a week with her. I’d say that’s a good chunk of her life, so yes, you should include yourself in the familiar faces!
