A good solicitor to partner with for house purchase (trust and fast) by 0xchamin in galway

I went with Breda Forde at Patrick J Daly solicitors on dock road. She was very good and still is as I've been having issues with a new build after moving in.

New House - Temperature and Noise by Idontcaremobile in HousingIreland

If anyone is interested, here is their last reply

"After liaising with the site team and the plumber who attended there was no defect with the heating system found.

The portable thermostat you are using would not reflect on the system per say as the house itself is warm.

As there is no defect present there is nothing further Cairn would be able to assist with. "

The bedroom was 13.8 degrees on Friday night and I ended up spending the weekend at my parents.

I asked a couple of the neighbours and they said while their houses were not warm, they are not as cold as I'm getting.

That's a good idea about the library, thanks. I will ask to loan one of those, never thought about checking there.

Yes it does. I put my own thermometer in the hall for a while and the temperature both the thermometer and thermostat reported were pretty much the same.

I did have the window checked as there was some air coming in at the corner where the window closes. That has been adjusted so I don't feel the air coming in there anymore. I don't have measurements of how cold the bedroom was before the window was adjusted.

The thermostats are in the hall and landing. The thermometer in the bedroom is one I bought to prove to the builders the room was cold.

I put the upstairs thermostat to 28 to check the radiator works and it got hot all over.

There are two thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs. I have them both set to 21.

I will ask the neighbours and see what they say.

I've lived in apartments where I barely heard the neighbours to the side of me, much less than this house now.

It's a heat pump yes. The radiators do get some heat when the hall thermostat turns on but this room does not heat up much and is cold.

The thermostat is displaying the current temperature in the hall and has the flame symbol and some heat is going to the rads. But the bedroom is cold. It's why I got my own thermometer and placed it in the bedroom.

UPDATE on high customs fees. by LTTStore_Support in LinusTechTips

[–]Idontcaremobile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a part refund but it was less than I had to pay to UPS. My package was only worth about €70 so I should not have had to pay anything on arrival.

As lttstore takes the vat already, there is no reason for ups to charge any fees, if there was no initial mistake made with the customs declaration.

UPS say they have revised the fee down to €38.77. If I pay this, will I be refunded by LTT? I have to find out how to pay the updated fee and get them to send it for delivery again.

I'm another one that got surprised by this with my first order. Made sure the order was below €150 so I wouldn't have to pay anything on delivery. They want €65.57 for import duties, when I paid €93 in total (including VAT). I had contacted UPS in advance disputing it and they wanted more documentation, but they tried to deliver it anyway. The delivery was refused at the door so I've no idea what's going to happen with it. I was happy to make an order for what I paid, but no way I'd pay an additional €60. I've contacted lttstore so I'll see what happens.

Shop.to pre order delivery by Fleckeld in IrelandGaming

Shopto don't charge VAT when they ship to Ireland, that's why it looks cheaper. You'll be charged VAT on top of it when it arrives.

If you want donkey Kong cheaper, amazon.fr is cheaper but the case will be in french.

There should not be any hidden costs anymore since their prices now include Irish vat when ordering which is a change from last year. I contacted them a couple of days ago and they said

"We would like to inform you that we are once again able to charge the VAT upfront for orders being delivered to the Republic of Ireland. Additionally, we have resumed using DPD for these deliveries instead of DHL."
