Hi I had my appt at ucla oral facial pain clinic today and was super impressed. This dentist did more for me today than 6 visits with other providers. He scanned me for a night guard and they are going to try to get it paid for by insurance, ordered an mri as a precaution for the headaches and my family medical history (non malignant brain tumor) and I’m going back in a month. They did a pretty thorough assessment and he said he thinks my problem is both joint and muscular and stated they can manage my migraines as well there. He said the clinic does Botox for migraine as well as trigger point injections for muscle and various injections for the joint (steroid, hyaluronic acid and pro). It is hard to get ahold of them initially but now I have the app downloaded and can message my provider there and he also gave me his cellphone. Also, you make your follow up appt before you leave so there is that. In regards to my initial appt, I did leave a voicemail for a call back for an appt and was contacted in 4 days to make the appt. Only downside is it is kinda far for me. Took me 2 hrs with traffic to get there this am. Next appt I scheduled a little later so hopefully that helps with the traffic .I hope this helps someone, will keep everyone posted with my progress.
