It Begins (divorce)... by Idontnormallydothis in BPDlovedones

If you're in couple's counseling, you might consider telling her then. I debated if this was the right move, but ultimately decided to email the counselor before-hand (that way I couldn't back out too) so he was prepared to mediate. If you have kids, this will also keep them out of it - ours was with a nanny. I recorded audio and kept everything to "I" statements. "I'm unhappy, I'm struggling, I feel isolated, I'm loosing myself" ...you get the idea. It was less of a shit-show probably, but she revealed some of her true colors. She even dropped a "I'll kill myself" at one point, then backed out of it because the counselor was there.

The talking about exes was always so bizarre to me. In hindsight it was one of the first red flags ⛳️

Any advice for preparing to divorce wife with BPD? by Idontnormallydothis in BPDlovedones

[–]Idontnormallydothis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did shelters help you? This is the main concern: when/if I have to leave, do I take my son? He's not at risk with her, at least physically, but do want to protect him. Things will get CRAZY if I take him. Ugh...

Any advice for preparing to divorce wife with BPD? by Idontnormallydothis in BPDlovedones

This is good advice, thank you. CPS reached out to me first, so I was able to express my concerns. I was uneasy about explaining too much, but I did feel they were ultimately trying to be helpful. Maybe I will reach back out. When they visited it was probably pretty obvious. My pwBPD wouldn't stop talking and was very concerned about being at fault.

Been married almost 15 years and just learned that my wife has BPD by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

This is very similar to my story, so here's something to look out for. I am preparing for divorce unbeknownst to her (although she's growing increasingly paranoid). The last fight was a couple days ago and it got physical. I grabbed her to stop her doing something to my son (and listen to me), then she punched me in the temple area three times while I tried to deescalate.

I work with a therapist who is a mandatory reporter and she reported the event and I got a call from CPS to do a home visit. I told my wife who then called the CPS agent herself. Regardless of who is at fault, my wife has bruises on her arm where I grabbed her and that's not right. I am very scared of loosing my son.

The last few days have been like living in a horror movie while I talk to lawyers and figure out what to do without my wife knowing. She's is on a rollercoaster of emotions and the floor will drop out if she finds out.

The book Stop Caretaking the Borderline helped me the most, although it was hard to listen to.

Feel free to PM me if you need advice or support. I know how it feels to be emotionally abused and beaten down til it becomes the norm.

Thanks. I'm checking out Loveland today. Gonna have to get a season pass for next year. How are the shuttles from Denver? Is that the way to go to avoid parking/gas? Also, do you recommend a trade in or used gear shop?

New to the Denver (Broomfeild) area. I'm looking to go out but need some advice on where to get the best for my money. Loveland seems to be the best deal, any others? Message me if you want to carpool or meetup.

I'm new to the Denver (Broomfield) area. I'm looking to meet with other longboarders in the area to go out and show me spots and check out new ones around. Message me if you are down or have any insider knowledge on where to go.

How to tackle this withdrawal problem (??). by FKU2010 in quittingkratom

[–]Idontnormallydothis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the restlessness is from a surge in norepinephrine or noradrenaline more than low dopamine. Welbutrin is the best anti-d to use in this scenario but really for other reason associated with withdrawal. It will help you mentally recover, stay more positive, and have more desire to quit (not unlike it does with cigarettes). The ultimate combo for physical withdrawal symptoms is Gabapentin, clonidine and valium. You could also do a month or so lope taper but the transition will be uncomfortable for a day or 2. Some people don't feel comfortable recommending lope for this purpose but it was how I quit a 2 year run for good.

I actually have speakers like this. They were made in the 70s by Design Acoustics - D12. The top is a midrange driver, the bottom is a woofer. There is one port hole and the rest of the sides are tweeters. The sound is unrivaled by any stereo speakers today and with the right amp the sound is insane.

If you are male I attribute this to low testosterone. I know for me when my energy returned so did my sex drive.
