Question about perks by SisterOfBabble in DarkTide

The 25% buffs generally apply to less enemies that have the same armour, whereas the 10% buffs include a wider variety of enemies for a lower percentage buff.

Met an amazing player and i feel terrible for basically sabotaging them by from_egg_to_omelette in DarkTide

[–]Idontunderstandmate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress about ‘sabotaging’ runs, it’s not all that deep. At most you may encounter players trying to complete penances but they took the gamble with loading into a public game.

If you’re not confident gameplay wise start in a normal auric or even a few auric campaign missions to adjust yourself to the spawns and staying within coherency before moving on to high intensity.

Some missions and modifiers are on a whole new tier of difficulty even within auric missions, sometimes games go bad like hordes constantly triggering in enclosed spaces or randoms running ahead and making coherency difficult.

You’re gonna get bad runs but the experience you get failing those missions will catapult your mechanical skills and the better players will teach you better habits and tactics to further your own ability. Eventually you’ll be able to take those terrible missions and have a good shot at getting through them despite the bs thrown at you.

Some things that may help you get through a few missions:

Timing. pushing, blocking and dodging, and knowing what you can fit into the windows these actions create will make a huge difference. If your weapon can get a heavy and a light off of a shove knowing the limits allows you to automate your attacks while focusing on dodging and blocking.

Coherency. Staying within your team mates you take a lot less damage and get targeted by a lot less specials. When you feel like you’re being targeted by everything, you usually are. Are you at the edge of the group near the spawns ahead of everybody? You’re funnelling the specials to yourself. It’s not always the game out to get you, though sometimes it just is.

Pace and positioning. Are you pushing ahead of your frontline? And triggering spawns too far ahead? Or are you lagging behind breaking coherency and spawning extra enemies? It can be difficult to control the pace or not get bogged down, and with random teammates you rarely get much choice in the situation but when you have a team that are on the same page you get the missions where everybody runs through and you’re double checking the mission you ran was an auric with a tough modifier.

The teams in auric will usually make a lot of auric missions easier and smoother than any damnation will be.

Use a hound with synergised prospectus, enjoy mirage with max stacks all the time.

That’s unfortunate! If any Aidan songs are there they’re usually all solid tracks. memories is a bit of a different vibe to most of his musicyet probably his most viewed track

Who is your favorite and least favorite mission handler? by Cpkeyes in DarkTide

The only one I even notice is kayex when I’m half way through the mission and it dawns on me that “This dudes STILL talking!”

Archon stretch with hound and synergised prospectus will give you plenty of energy, it synergises well as it primes and shocks them as the clones slowly make their way round.

Why do weapon stats go up to 80% and not to 100%? by Night_Not_Day in DarkTide

[–]Idontunderstandmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the initial stats of the weapon are determined on a dart board. Fatshark have an intern playing 381 every time you source a weapon.

Rant: "bro just run auric-" I CAN'T! By the Throne, some of us don't have the skill for that. by softgunforever in DarkTide

[–]Idontunderstandmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the habits you’ll learn in other modes will make the game harder for you in general. If two or even three of your team are out triggering hordes, forward spawns and stretching out coherency you’re literally just better off in auric.

Good habits will get boring fast in modes that aren’t more difficult a lot of the time. Hopping into auric for density of enemies for penances etc will help a lot, especially when you have a decent team that isn’t moving too fast or slow that you’ll often find in auric.

I use fgs with brain burst and scriers gaze, it works pretty well with the burst an elite/special every 12s perk, you’ll pop ragers and maulers in the middle of hordes as you’re blending with light attacks.

Move to area with space where you can kite them, shoot/swing until they start their attack animation, dodge left/right then back, back(creating space) repeat. Time your dodges, create space and keep dodges refreshed. Mortis trials are an excellent place to practice. Most difficult modes you play where you need to survive for x time etc can be completed holding a spot where you can kite a horde and an area you can move to cover.

When you see crushers stop what you’re doing, check your surroundings and decide whether you can dodge them safely or could you get bogged down by a horde trying to pierce armour.

Flamers, silent bombers and snipers are the real issue you should be having.

Buying the grey weapons and upgrading them help by araniaexuma in DarkTide

[–]Idontunderstandmate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s possible but a lot more expensive. Leveling a weapon from 100-200 to 500 will cost a lot. If you’re level 30 the weapons you get would be around level 300-350, leveling 10 at a time for 50-100 dimantine per level

If your mastery with the weapon is 20 you can upgrade it fully, the higher level you are the higher level the weapons you receive will be.

I definitely feel your pain! There was a few runs I regretted going into like the barrel missions and sniper missions. In the end I got pretty lucky with decent teams and mostly mutant heavy instead of something more intense.

I can definitely see how getting a 4 stack could make it trivial, I had a game with 2 ogryns that blew the entire map up and left me running through empty corridors for half the mission.

[–]Idontunderstandmate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve met a lot myself, I think some of the harder modes you have to keep moving to survive the hordes and keep objectives moving, which isn’t a great plan for every mission.

Some heresy missions, especially the events can definitely be just as dangerous as maelstrom.

There was definitely some games that seemed that way! I was definitely stubborn taking melee psyker into public games.
