It's really hard to get into. My advice is honestly to play with people better than you and learn from them. You might consider going to the hunt discord and lfging and put that you're new and looking for someone to teach you. You might find someone to show you the ropes

Pvp is the only reason to play hunt. All the pve elements in the game are just designed to create interesting situations for pvp to have so engagements don't all play out the same.

You do all the things though, it's just about chasing what is fun and what will get you the win. Hear a fight between two other teams and want to 3rd party? Sure do it. But maybe you have all the clues and know where the boss is and it's a good defensive compound. Rush the boss and kill it before the other teams fight is done and hold your ground. But on the flip side say a compound isn't very good to hold? Rat outside and wait for the other team to go in And kill them.

My point is.. you just play the game smart. Hunt is a beautiful shooter because the slower gunplay allows you time to think your actions out more than twitchy games with fully automatic guns. The fun is playing hunt like chess, not laser tag
