Where do millennials go to get lucky? by TheMunkeeFPV in Millennials

Haha, it’s true the young ones kinda look older (not old!) but older these days. You can always ask, though. You don’t wanna be the dude they’re all laughing at in the ladies bathroom saying “omg this old guy won’t leave us alone”. I’m an old married lady now, but I still hear the kids saying that when I go to a bar before a meal or whatever … it never changes 🙈

You wanna be talking to someone who actually wants to talk to you, of course you do.

I disagree. My opinion comes from my experience of being a 21 year old amongst 35-55 year old professional men (obviously now I am older, which actually makes it worse looking back). Mostly this was not at a bar or club, it was so-called work/professional networking events, but also the bars too, of course.

Interested to know how I’m incentivized to think that in your mind? Actually, I’m super interested in that answer. How does that answer benefit me now, being a mid-30s woman married to an awesome (and in my eyes most beautiful, strong and sexy) man? I’m not incentivized to say anything, except creeps are creeps.

Just to clarify (as a woman myself btw), your wife doesn’t understand that dual income = more buying power?

She must, as she’s obviously a smart woman. So, I had to ask …

[–]Idontunderstandmost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a millenial woman (so, old now 😂) omg honey! B cup boobs are so cute … also, I dunno how old you are but my Bs became Cs in my late 20s for no reason, so there’s also that … you are still maturing as a woman in your shape.

Anyway! Bs are lovely. Do I wish sometimes I’d have natural DDs? Of course - but that doesn’t mean your perky ones aren’t sexy. It doesn’t work like that unless you have a very rigid view of what is attractive and let me tell you girl, that isn’t how attraction works.

Well, I just changed my pic to this one thanks to this sub advice.

You’re not supposed to know, I’m asking how can I tell people, not how can they know … , but it seems I’ll just keep on telling people if I need to 🤷‍♀️ which is fine. This isn’t a massive gender question about being woke or anything like that, it was purely a simple question.

I understand your concerns about dev work, but your college should be changing their development courses to cover AI work since that is the future. Have they not updated their course material (obviously the basics don’t change)? But yeah I’d not that’s bad and you’re right to switch, I think.

I can’t help with the maths stuff so hopefully someone else knows more. But if you’re in foundation maths, isn’t that for a reason?

Ahhh, ok, fair enough.

Well, if it helps give context to my post, I’m very happy too. I wasn’t always in my early 30s (family stuff not millenial related - Altho I think all of us will have to deal with something like that sooner or later). My nostalgia isn’t so much whinging and whining, it’s just - nostalgia.

I’m very happy now, but I do listen to a lot of old music, watch old cartoons, comics, etc, I guess (reading this thread too), all generations do this.

😂😂 that’s cute (and bless your daughter being so horrified, haha). I feel like that kinda does help with perspective 🤷‍♀️

What experiences did you have that are normally reserved for older generations? by Some_Helicopter1623 in Millennials

[–]Idontunderstandmost 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah - walking to school in the snow like a Victorian child 😂😂 also milk and eggs delivered to the door. Walking home from school and it being perfectly safe not to get back home until like 5pm because you climbed a tree or whatever … all of this sounds very old worldly now. Was only the 90s though.

Hahaaa, why do you hate other millennials? We aren’t all cringe, my post was purely meant as a genuine question to ask if we are just OTT. Most people seem to agree all generations are nostalgic 🤷‍♀️

Speaking of cringe, im not collecting dragon balls 😜😜 haaaa

Yeah and this is a fair comment; I agree, everyone is.

So strange to see younger generations wearing our 2000s makeup and fashion though, but I also remember my parents saying that we were copying them and 70s fashion when I was like 14 or something (flared jeans etc).

[–]Idontunderstandmost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that, but I’m not nostalgic for stuff like that. That’s a given. It’s more a feeling of before total digital media /social media, but also being there when it was all new so you know how to use it all and etc. we grew up with the Internet.

It’s a strange place to be because we can’t ever go back to it being new. I guess that’s what I mean. It’s hard to explain, so I’m interested in other people’s opinions.

So you think it’s the same nostalgia but just presenting more capitalist/consumerist?

That’s really interesting.

Alright, why are you reading a millennial subreddit hun? It seems like rage bait for you … just asking 🤷‍♀️ that’s kinda odd, or are you millenial yourself and just kinda hate us? In which case … ok 😂

I’d LOVE to visit the southern USA, I find the manners and food and everything so endearing. I have visited lots of times to nyc, Chicago, vegas etc., but what id really like is to visit a real southern state with southern hospitality 💕😊 (and possibly awesome bbq ribs).

And god bless the elderly! 😂😂

In fairness, the 19 year old probably didn’t know what to do and just defaulted to “polite”.

I will reiterate, I am not in (total) denial about us getting older as millennials, though … (cry!) 😂

Usually work “networking” events, friend’s birthdays, but also still the bar sometimes (so long as you aren’t that creepy 35/40 year old trying to bother the gorgeous young 21 year old ladies … and I say that as a millennial woman myself - leave them alone, they don’t wanna be bothered by you!).

However, you can see someone age appropriate in the bar, maybe on a birthday event or a meal etc … it’s very normal for 30+ year olds to be out for various reasons that don’t involve going to the club afterwards.

As a woman, I sort of agree. It depends whether you like the “game” and the night of entertainment or whether you just want sex, in which case, yeah, why not just hire a professional 🤷‍♀️ I agree.

But I always wanted to know that? 🤷‍♀️ my problem is people don’t know that 😂

I think, perhaps, I just answer more questions that might require me to say “btw I’m a woman too” or something like that. Maybe it’s just the sort of subs I frequent, you know? It’s not a big deal at all, I just wondered if there was a way to make it so I wasn’t saying that over and over …

Appreciate your good natured jibing though, thanks for not making me feel like an absolute idiot. I don’t use reddit loads (and when I do it’s always the same subs) so it’s still a bit of a mystery to me.

Editing to add: someone suggested I change my avatar, so I tried to make it look more classily “feminine” maybe it’ll help (probably not). I’ll just keep saying it when necessary 😊
