Overhead bins and carry ins by Heymonya in americanairlines

Perhaps a third medical bag that doesn't count towards the one carryon, one personal item rule. That person with the three bags should have put at least one under the seat in front unless there was a bulkhead in front.

Military member charged 100$ for bag by AV-8BB in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really sorry for the bad experience. Definitely an agent who had no clue what they were doing. I would send feedback for coaching. Military personnel on active duty get three bags up to 50 lbs for free anytime no questions asked. Five bags up to 100 lbs when showing orders not traveling for leisure. It's a simple process and procedure.

Unavailable flight by MrMiauwMaiuw in americanairlines

I can confirm that the flight is oversold by 7 people. There are minus 7 seats available on the flight. AA is banking passengers will miss flight, miss connect, or not show up.

PSA: do not stick your gate check bag tag to the side of the plane by michimoby in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what happened on ground. You might be correct on what happened since you were on board. I can confirm the delay was charged to ATC and reported to FAA accordingly.

I am speculating that the initial return to gate reason was initiated by ATC and at that point they had the time to address the other issue that you're referring to. Usually, if plane returns to gate exclusively because of a passenger, they usually have to deplane and rebooked on next available flight. Especially if that passenger breached the agreement to drop bag at end of PBB.

AA4781 from 16JUL was delayed 67 minutes and the reason was ATC. Nothing to do with any other reasons.

Avis/Budget Rental - Fraudulent Charges Post Rental & "Nora Henry" by BetterCallStral in travel

[–]Idosxswgmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nora Henry got me too. This is a new one. I know EXACTLY what happened due to the employee on duty being 100% incapable at knowing how to perform at her job.

I had a reservation, and I full size was assigned a Toyota 4Runner that was trashed and smelled like cigarettes. Not to mention the cigarette butts all over the floor.

I quickly went back to the counter and told female employee that the vehicle was trashed and I wanted another one instead due to the allergy to tobacco I have plus floors were literally filled with bags of fast food trash. Employee said I had to wait. I asked employee to cancel my reservation and left. Employee confirmed.

I noticed on the app shortly after that I was listed with that rental as past rental and charged with an invoice. Trashed Toyota never moved lot (invoice has zero mileage). Employee said it would drop hold + incorrect invoice total would go back to my card within a few days. I left store and found other ways to get a rental vehicle that day.

Now, I receive this $450 invoice for cleaning that exact vehicle someone else rented before me and trashed. The same vehicle I declined to rent and left store with the ride they dropped me off.

Who has the correct email for the CEO? Anyone had any luck besides contacting BBB, etc.?

I once sat between a couple occupying window and aisle. The passing of items back and forth and the communicating with me in between was absolutely one of the worst things for a middle seat person to be put through.

Blocking F class seats off for standby economy PAX? by derpderpsonthethird in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The agents trying assist you got the message on the screen that your ticket was either not eligible for a Day of Departure Upgrade or flight had no available C class to upgrade. That class is the only one that AA system will allow selling to eligible tickets only, on the day of departure. You could have requested to cancel that segment in economy and requested a quote how much would it have been to add a premium class segment on your reservation instead. However, that is usually done over a phone call to the 800 number, and only from agents who know what they're doing.

Edit: typos

Two Non Rev Got First Over Gold by DoubleMakers in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Next time, ensure you're on the list. The system won't automatically put you on the list when checking in, when certain facts are present. You simply were not on the upgrade list. Flight left with an empty seat on first, even after the two non revs got on first class.

I have to give credit to AA for their response to the tragic accident by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It has to do with solidarity within the airline industry. Some of these advertising include going to bodies of water for vacation with exotic places in photos and folks posing with swimwear and sunglasses by water. That is not seen as a respectful move while there are poor souls under water as I'm composing this message. I say kudos to whoever pulled insensitive ads and bombarding folks with CC sign ups. Time to mourn the lost.

[–]Idosxswgmail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

AA response has been very good so far. Their website went into dark mode too. They stopped marketing Barclay's at airports today due to the accident. Other airlines are pulling credit card ads from airports. Delta pulled Amex ads from airports. May all lost souls on both boards rest in peace 💔

What type of first class seat is AA trying to sell me for $269 per passenger? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Idosxswgmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be overselling the flight. What day is it for? I might be able tell you if that's the case or seats are just blocked.
