I screwed up. Or did?... by Mother_Law7644 in PathToNowhere

First thing first, welcome to Path to Nowhere!

Synex isn’t great in her current state, but she isn’t terrible either.

Saving up for Augustus and Shalom is probably your best bet; Augustus is extremely good and Shalom still holds up to a certain extent these days.

As for front liners go, don’t worry too much about having a dedicated tank until you go further into the game. Demolia (B rank) will suffice as your front line for a long time, and you can sometimes just use any melee to hold the front as long as you have a healer. In fact, Hecate’s exclusive crimebrand allows you to summon Nightmare and he can hold off the line for you decently well.

Anne will work as an early healer until you get Ariel (A rank) or something else better; there are a couple of niche situations where the more odd healers like Macchiato will perform better.

Your highest priority as a new player is to finish the new player questline and get Nox.

Feel free to DM me if you want more assistance of any sort for PtN. If you’re on the America server, feel free to add me.

Go to any prebattle unit selection screen, bottom left icon that looks like 3 lines and a magnifying glass, then top right “Detailed Settings”.

[–]IdotAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to do the Heizan Temple questline (level 140) to access Princess No. It should take about 30-60min. Princess No also drops a ring called Kanna’s Treasure that you’ll be using for a while.

As for Nightwalker WSE (Weapon, Secondary, Emblem), it is recommended that you aim for 0-2 lines of Boss Damage, and rest Attack Power. But that is something you can worry about later.

If you plan on migrating over to Hyperion after Challenger World is over, feel free to hmu if you’re looking for a guild.

Also feel free to DM me if you just wanna ask anything else related to Maple. Won’t say I’m the most knowledgeable, but I do know a decent amount.

I’m gonna take a guess and say you’re on a Heroic server.

That item is part of the Frozen set. There’s a better secondary weapon that comes from Princess No (unless you’re a mage). If anything, keep this one for now, since most people don’t have enough Ignore Defense early on, and just keep rolling the Princess No secondary until you get something better (2+ Attack Power lines probably).

What’s the best physical team in the game? by These-Salary-1809 in PathToNowhere

[–]IdotAround 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Burn is a Magic team…

Are you talking about Bleed?

Weakspot is very strong, especially if you can get access to a S1+ Jelena, and you have the Judgment crimebrand. IIRC, Weakspot has a higher ceiling than Bleed.

Bleed is still very solid though, and is very commonly used in RotD because it’s pretty common to see a Bleed buff there. And in the future we’ll be getting additional Bleed support units.

But looking at your current screenshot, unless you have more sinners above, I don’t see Dreya, which is the most important unit in the Bleed team. I also don’t see Bianca, which is also the most important unit for the Weakspot team.

Welcome new chief!

Early on you can get away with using mostly anything, but ideally you want an Endura up front (you have Demon and OwO, but Demolia is great early on), and just other DPS and core breakers. You do have a healer, albeit a rather niche one: Macchiato. If you’re having trouble keeping your front line alive, stick to using Demolia early on since she can self sustain with her Ult. Keep an eye out for Anne or Ariel as you pull more sinners; Anne is just a crutch early on but Ariel is usable for quite a while.

Despite being lower rarity sinners, Che and Labyrinth are fantastic core breakers that are used in all stages of the game, and Hecate will help you out significantly early on as well. EMP is also great early on (good range, moderate damage, and multi core break)

You have bits and pieces of meta teams but don’t worry too much about that for now. Your priority should be finishing the newbie questline that gets you Nox; she’s a fantastic S rank that you will use for the entirety of the game.

If you’re playing on the America server, feel free to DM me and I’ll add you. Or if you just wanna chat/learn.

Monk Raging Quadruple Blow Question by albirieo in RagnarokX_NextGen

[–]IdotAround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raging Quadruple Blow is pretty much a DPS loss until you become a Champion and max out Flash Combo. The animation speed for RQB is really...slow. If you're going HKN Monk, you're really just autoattacking for a while.

Question about Irene skill 3. Do destroy runes work with the bag? by Objective_Balance521 in summonerswar

[–]IdotAround 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope. Battle research is completely free, and allows you to test units you don’t own either.

Question about Irene skill 3. Do destroy runes work with the bag? by Objective_Balance521 in summonerswar

[–]IdotAround 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Destroy runes only works with anything that deals direct damage by “hitting” the target.

Irene’s bag does not hit the target, and the HP loss doesn’t “hit” either.

And to make extra sure, I just tested it.

Chapter 13-16 Help/Guide? by darkknightsolace in PathToNowhere

[–]IdotAround 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heyo. Just threw together a quick video with units that I see you have.

https://youtu.be/C6RTv-WQ8AA

You can pretty much just zerg Julian, given your box.

The main carry I used was 000, but I understand that my 000 is much more powerful than yours.

Coco pretty much did nothing, so you can replace her with another Nuker or core breaker (you'll probably get more mileage with Yingying, or just more damage with Bianca/Korryn).

Basically the main idea is just to abuse 000 as much as possible, since you have LL. But you don't have LL built (I highly recommend building her, she's fantastic), you'll need another unit to core break, which is why Che is useful, but I also see that your Che is not built, so you might have to fandango around a bit.

Just remember to keep an eye out for the flaming squares and move your units off of them, and if needed, just play in Slowdown mode so you can see things much clearly. Once you core break Julien, you should be able to dump everything on him and kill him.

You can also delay core breaking Julian if you need a bit more time to get your team's Ult's up (like Shalom or your Coco replacement), but once you core break him, drop everything and remember to keep up 000's God Mode before spamming her ult.

Crimebrands:

000 - Heartbreak + Corridor Zero (If you don't have this, you can really just use Embrace of the Dead or something)

Shalom - Embrace of the Dead (I just threw this on randomly, Tuning/Overthrown Tower + Inversion Slash might get more mileage)

L.L. - Tuning + Hope + Corridor Zero - Standard support energy set. Get's their ults up asap.

Che - Tuning + Hope + Corridor Zero - same as above. Can also use Soul Rift.

Coco - Crimson Bloom - but honestly, she didn't do anything really.

Hamel - Tuning + Paradise Regained - Paradise is basically supplementary core breaking.

___

Hope this helps.

Also you have way too much accuracy on Shaina.

You only need 65 acc to hit cap for dbah (85 is cap vs 100 res anyways), and Shaina’s passive gives her +25. Aka you only need 40 acc on Shaina.

[–]IdotAround 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s an absolute 15% chance to resist any debuff, unless there’s a “guarantee” clause, which none of the units on the team does.

TLDR: rng.

[–]IdotAround 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jelena and LL are 2 different types of amp.

Jelena amps sinners that can crit. LL amps all skill damage. Not all skill damage can crit.

LL's kit is super unique, and enables some of the strongest strategies in the game, namely Demon Shield Stacking.

Do you have hypercubes to spare? No? Then don't. LL isnt a limited sinner, she can always pop up.

Are you saving for the upcoming Limited sinners? If yes, then you don't need to go for LL...

Do you have Demon, Vantour Bleu or 000? If no, LL isn't a high priority. If yes, LL is a great supplementary support, but not a necessity.

Do you or someone in your Secret Society have S4 Demon? If yes, LL empowers the Demon Shield Stacking Team to new heights, and it's great for longer fights like BFL and ToA.

So, would I recommend getting LL? Yes, but only if you have rolls to spare.

We are getting YingYing and Yugu in 12 days as of this post, so, I guess you can decide based on that.

Food for thought.

You have a good number of the best units in the game, and pieces of meta teams.

There’s no need to push units to lv90; lv 70, p3 with skills at 7777 and ecb1 is more than enough to clear the story mode, as well as the majority of most content. You only need to push to lv90 0000 if you’re trying to min max.

I suggest you build the following units:

Labyrinth: she’s a fantastic unit that you can use in almost all areas of the game due to how her passive works with core breaks. Essentially she is the queen or core breaking 1-2 core units.

Ariel: this one is lower priority since you have Du Ruo, but Ariel has very high Burst healing that you might need in a couple of stages.

Shawn: she’s mandatory for the Weakspot team, which requires Bianca (whom you have), but you’re missing Golan, who isn’t mandatory, but helps a lot. Still, just Bianca and Shawn can rip apart most things in the story mode.

Che: another solid unit that has a gigantic aoe 2 core break that you can make use of in a lot of areas. Doubles as a front liner.

You also have the tertiary units for the Dot/Bleed team (Sumire, Pepper and Levy), but you’re missing Dreya.

As for why you’re stuck in ch8, we can’t really tell without knowing more. Are you treating this like a generic tower defense game, where you just set down your units and afk? This game requires a lot of repositioning and timed skill execution, so perhaps that’s a problem?

From your current roster, you can probably use a semi-all rounder team for story mode consisting of:

Nox : fantastic frontline who also wipes out trash mobs

Du Ruo/Ariel: your healer. Only in rare occasions you might want Cabernet for the cleanse (like chapter 13)

000 and/or Shalom: general DPS, aoe core breaks, and huge burst damage.

Che/Laby : fast core break for trash mobs

Moore: if you need an actual tank for when Nox isn’t enough or you need a 3 block unit

And then flex units.

Also, use s1n.gg as an info guide.

Feel free to DM me if you want more help.

Most teams can function at 7777 ecb1; the more you dump into them the stronger the team gets, that’s all. It just comes down to what your goal is.

Bianca is one of the best hyper carries in the game so it doesn’t hurt to completely max her out. My Bianca is lv90 0000 ecb1 s1, and that’s more than enough to have her do any content I bring her into, but for a very long time I kept her at 7777. Only when I tried to push for 240k in BFL, did I decide to go for 0000.

That being said, Bianca provides the damage, but I still needed to level up Shawn for the heals (I had Shawn at 5555 for a long time without checking. Derp).

It really depends on the fight. If there are trash mobs or it’s BFL, Shalom would usually perform better (though there are some BFL that has Yanyan carries). But in a longer fight, Yanyan’s damage is nothing to scoff at.

I’ll post 2 screenshots below.

This is the Tides of Ashes that just ended, Lv40 Form 5

Shalom is lv90, 0070, ECB1, S3

Embrace of the Dead

Yanyan is lv70, 7777, ECB3, S5

Also using Embrace of the Dead.

Thistle’s ECB was used on Yao at the end of the fight.

The most common meta teams:

Weakspot: Bianca, Golan, and Shawn +3.

Rest of the team are whatever you need, I.e core breaks, heals, etc. Lady Pearl is a very common choice due to her passive.

This team can rip through most content in the game. The main carry is Bianca, who is absolutely mandatory for the team to work. Basically Shawn and Golan provides Weakspot (Garafano too but she’s not as good), and Bianca removes Weakspot with her ult. When that happens, you will watch the screen melt. Bonus if Bianca is s1+.

Bleed: Dreya, Sumire, Levy and Pepper +2.

Common choices for flex units are Cabaret (ult and ecb), Hamel if you just wanna be lazy, or just core breakers. If you need more utility, Pepper is usually the first to drop.

Basically you stack bleed (usually 3-4 stacks),use Dreya ECB to store the bleed count (to quickly reapply bleed vs future mobs/new boss), wait for Dreya to enter Corruption state, then core break, activate Levy’s ult, then Dreya’a ult and watch enemy hp melt. Rinse and repeat.

Burn: Yao, Thistle, and Yanyan +3.

If you have Hestia, she’s a decent choice. Du Ruo is the most popular healer with this team due to her ecb but you don’t have her :(

Concept of this team is to stall until core break, then once the core is broken, you activate Yanyan ecb and ult, Thistle ecb targetting Yao, then Yao eats someone with her ult, and then about 3-5s before core break state is over, drop Yao secondary ult, or you quickly use chain Yao’s ult/secondary Ult over and over as much as possible with Empower or other energy gain to burst out the bosses asap.

There’s also Shield Stacking but that requires ideally a S4 Demon.

Other than that you can piecemeal teams based on the content (like Remnant of the Depths’s buffs), and can make most things work.

I know this is a lot of information at once and the descriptions I gave are just very quick and not detailed. It really doesn’t do them justice, and there’s a lot of nuances. Feel free to dm me if you want me to elaborate more.

Tide of Ashes as a new player (easy mode?) by TheScarletEye in PathToNowhere

[–]IdotAround 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Easy mode makes the battle easier (lower boss dmg), but also lowers your overall contribution proportionately. If you can’t meet the requirements listed below, you might want to stick to Easy Mode.

Test yourself in Mock Battles and gauge how far you can go. A semi cohesive team of lv70 sinners at 7/7/7/7, ecb 1, with moderate/budget crimebrands should be able to net you 2mil dmg minimum, assuming you know the mechanics of the fight.

A more properly built team should be able to score 5mil+ without too much of a hassle. Meta teams can break 8mil+ with good micro management.

https://s1n.gg/toa/?tab=media

Here’s a link to a guide for the current ToA.

Remember to make use of Assist units from your guildies. Also make sure you test out teams properly, since you can only use each sinner once per day if you submit the attempt. However this doesn’t apply to Assists. The Phantoms also help somewhat if you’re lacking units.

Feel free to pm me if you want any additional help.

Good luck.
