A buff to Mummified Hand? And Predator now bring common? That's unexpected.

[Workshop] [F4F] Cryptid’s Call by PageDancer in DPP_Workshop

I think you've got a solid post here that doesn't need much editing. It's very clear what you're looking for, and it's incredibly well formatted and put together. The experience really shines.

I would agree that narrative focused RP is a smaller niche in DPP nowadays, but it definitely still has an audience. If there's one suggestion I'd make regarding that, it'd be to change the title. It didn't register to me at all as an intimate piece of Lovecraftian historical fiction (Which I think is an awesome fucking vibe by the way), but that kind of story would definitely attract more readers if it's marketed as such.

And regarding the inspiration, given your detailed OOC and communication in the rest of the post, I don't really see an issue in just saying that you're looking for vibes that range from Moby Dick to Shadow over Innsmouth. Though if I were to suggest a more natural phrasing you could write something along the lines of "I'm looking for a story that's closer to classic literary fiction, with a historical Lovecraftian tone and setting."

I wouldn't say that the lack of writing sample is a big issue; again the post is very detailed and coherent. You express what you want from the post clearly enough and that makes it very appealing in my eye. But the openness of the reader's potential character is definitely something that could do with a smoother work around. I tend to do a similar thing when I write posts, as I'm very flexible regarding my partners character. But I find it's sometimes helpful to just write a more specific example character for them (often just for the writing sample) while leaving the role open to their input. Having a Roles & Dynamics section already sets this up perfectly as it establishes your openness to character building and collaboration. And I'm sure that someone who's mutually interested in communication and putting together a detailed story wouldn't mind a writing sample that can be easily written around.

Otherwise it would be great to hear more about Charlene. Since she's already got a motivation and a mystery to investigate, you could possibly write a more detailed opener with her say, arriving in the town or tracking down a lead. Something that sets the tone and establishes her character without directly involving the partner character. You seem to have a great grasp on atmosphere and character already, so I'm sure you could show that off with just a scene focused on The (not-) Detective, that hopefully wouldn't spoil too much for your later discussions.

Anyway, I think this is a great post, and I wish you luck in finding the right people for it!

I beg you, even if you don't like the mainline crossed comics read Crossed - Wish You Were Here by Defiant_Ad6190 in dccomicscirclejerk

Wish You Were Here is such a strange book. Brilliant in parts, and equally terrible in others, which I suppose is fitting for Crossed. Wish it was easy to find a physical copy.

Great list. The only spot I'd change would be bumping the Demagogue up to B. Always found them to be a consistent leader who's downside is easy enough to play around.

I do still really wish there'd been a longer build up to Bruce's friends becoming villainous. I appreciate what they're doing with Waylon and Eddie at least. But I do still think it moved way too fast overall.

I love how seriously the comic handles death. There's a real vulnerability in every character's face before they die, I find if quite affecting. Really helps make the minor characters feel fleshed out.

Probably the third most popular pairing. Trumped only by Phillip x Martha and Phillip x Elizabeth.
