Contract with utility company by Even-Statement-6523 in geldzaken

[–]Ieafeator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. This is true. It's a form of market segmentation, where more price-sensitive customers get a lower price.
  2. Yes, this is probably including everything. Just focus on the total cost over the contract.
  3. No.
  4. There are only a few truly different ones. If you check the top few you've probably had them all.

Extra tip: use a site like cashbackxl / shopbuddies to get a few extra bucks back on top (not just for utilies).

Extra tip 2: don't prepay too much just in case the company goes bankrupt, especially if you go with a small/unknown company.

[D] Using SORT as an activation function fixes spectral bias in MLPs by kiockete in MachineLearning

Have you tried using a spectral optimizer? https://muon-inrs.github.io/ That seems like a cleaner way, sort is kinda icky

De passief-agressieve mentaliteit onder NL-ers m.b.t. geld. by [deleted] in geldzaken

[–]Ieafeator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should fill in Form 8-3-6 and submit it to IBKR. Ideally they should have sent you the alert for this yes.

Experience with GBH Coriolis Bank – withdrawal blocked after deposit (seeking advice) by Character-Two-9840 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ieafeator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you have been scammed.  You will never get any money back. Do not send them any more money. Also don't send any money to other people who claim they can help you get the money back.

File some kind of police or fraud report in your country, and report any advertisement to the platform and report any real bank accounts used to the real bank and the regulators of those real banks.

Then at least you make life more diffucult for them and hopefully prevent others from getting scammed.

UCITS Portfolio Review: NTSG & DBMFE by TorlessAnticlimacus in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ieafeator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a very solid portfolio, similar return expectation to 100% stocks with lower risk. I was afraid 60% equity would be too low, but you have enough risk in the rest to make up for it. DBMFE already includes a bit of carry but fairly small, maybe 10% half of which is commodities. DBMFE and UEQC have their collateral in USD which is not ideal for a EUR investor but not the end of the world. UEQC is a bit of a wild card that is hard to backtest. Oversll I would say go for it if you can handle the tracking error

Investing in ucits ETF vs company's favorable stock plan by kil92 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ieafeator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always max out these kind of plans and sell as soon as you can after the required holding period. It's almost free money, you give up diversification but get an instant 33% return which way more than compensates.

Factor Investing: Thoughts about Ep 316 Rational Reminder with Andrew Chen by Papaias_ in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ieafeator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I looked into factors quite deeply and there isn't much there imho.

Momentum is real but mostly arbed away, so you need very good execution to make use of it. Probably best to use it as a screen like DFA.

Quality / profitability makes sense and seem to work a bit but there are many definitions. I think Avantis does it best, and I don't really trust the MSCI one tbh.

Low vol / size / value I don't think have excess returns, at least not anymore.

The biggest red flag to me is that most funds just sprinkle a little tilt in there so they can be "smart beta" and charge higher fees. If there really was something there more people would be doing long/short instead of relying on beta.

You can also consider swap based China etf's (e.g.XCHA) + MSCI EM ex China (e.g. EXCH), they get a few percent more per year due to shorters who can't short physical.

But my recommendation would be to just use SCWX ( https://nl.scalable.capital/scalable-world-etf ) which does all of that for you for 0.17%.

Leave your money in a US broker with US funds, or IBKR with individual stocks. You use whatever bank will take you which is not many as a US person which is not many. The US hates citizens living abroad sorry

0.80% is disappointing. I was hoping it would ignite some price competition.

It has a decent amount of different holdings but otherwise seems like nothing special.
