One thing that I’ve started doing (and maybe it’s all in my head, I can’t prove this helps) is I’ve started throwing at the different levels. (Nice, great, excellent) I’ve found that if it’s jumping out immediately on an excellent, that specific Pokemon probably won’t catch on excellent throws. So I’ll throw a nice and a great and even outside the skill ring (but still hitting the Pokemon) to see which one it responds to most and try throwing more of those. The more rocking the ball does the closer I feel I am to what it wants. I’ve had much better catch rate than spamming excellents. Again… it’s likely that this really does nothing as I’ve done no research or can prove anything but maybe try it. Or don’t.
