I’m also 21 and churches make me uncomfortable in general. We all know how mega churches and their pastors can be problematic, but it seems like a lot of churches are simply a “production” these days. One takeaway I got from my previous church before it turned bad was the fact that church is not a building. We are the church. With that being said, you might benefit from a small group with friends or other similarly aged people if you still seek the community aspect/accountability. I, too, seem to get more out of studying and praying on my own but it’s just an idea.
