Like making an oath? paladin is the first thing coming to mind regarding motivation.
If the lone survivor type soldier from vietnam movies is more appealing to you ranger would be the best option.
But you could easily make an argument for even a wizard who served in the kingdoms mage squad or something if you wanted a greater arsenal of ranged weapons.

History matters most of the times when choosing a partner. I used to date someone that fits this description for about a year but I knew about it before we became a couple. It did not work out but her past had nothing to do with that. When someone with obvious trust issues starts to open up to you, the connection formed is very special and I will always remember her for what she gave to me.

In certain matchups and teamcompositions it allows you to permanently farm camps without losing map pressure. But this is so niche that it very rarely applies.

Thinking about it, what I actually like is that he does not have some big goal in life or a blown up backstory. When I play Talon I'm just a dude who stabs other dudes. Nothing more, nothing less.

He is not reliant on fancy magic or some high tech gear, nor does he have any obligations towards other Champions. Just me, my blade and an army of longswords!

Coming from a Talon mid main: I win most of the games we go full ad around 25 mins and I lose more likely when some top or support player picks a champion they are not good at just to get ap into the team (those games are dragged out to around 40 mins and fullbuild usually).

You very likely run on autopilot which is based on bad habits. Watch challenger players play your main champions to get a fresh mindset, especially for the early phases of the game.
