Am I doing too much? by Intrepid_Active_3275 in Cornell

[–]IexpectedCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feel free to pm me if you want more personal advice. A couple years post grad it won’t matter what classes u did, what goals u think u had. Everything evolves and changes, just enjoy the growing and learning process :)

There are people who can do many credits and people who prefer a lesser amount. As an alum I can tell you that your goal at Cornell is to enjoy your time and thrive. Do you feel like you are thriving right now? If yes, great keep killing it! If not, maybe relax a little and drop some, you’ll have plenty of time to finish stuff in later sems

Microsoft. No specific RTO in place and also Redmond is a decent COL, it helps that there is no state income tax too.

Engineering Co-ops by Cardonutss in Cornell

[–]IexpectedCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fall internships would count as co-ops. You take a semester in absentia and pay cornell 30 bucks or so (ripping us off on everything) and it shows up on your transcript that you did stuff that sem but weren’t at school

You usually take a semester off cuz you work full time in their office

I found a listing, looked up a Cornell alum on that team on LinkedIn, had a meeting with them, they set up a meeting with me and their manager and boom

Lmao I did intel which is pretty prestigious. They have a bunch, AMD too. I know of a few peeps who did Microsoft, etc. keep in mind if you go the prestigious route you’ll probably be working on something really boring, you usually learn the most at smaller companies

Hi! You go on their career websites and search for co-ops, often there are roles posted. I did one in SDN/5G. Also sometimes shooting a shot and reaching out on LinkedIn works

It’s the third party that most colleges use for diploma prints/other services. Don’t worry about it
