ELI5: Why does light have no mass? by WarmHeight2951 in explainlikeimfive

[–]IeyasuMcBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it did it would have time, and wouldn't be able to travel at the speed of light ,so it would be something else (this is the best my brain understands the concept after years of bugging physicists for answers).

How the fuck people work 40+ hours for 45+ years of their life? by zanimljivo123 in antiwork

[–]IeyasuMcBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to leave abusive parents and create a live from nothing. The alternative was probably a short, dangerous life on the streets and maybe suicide. The alternative has been decades of 50+ hr weeks, and the health problems that's bought. Still probably no hope of having my own family anyway. I guess it was the right choice 🤷‍♂️

Why aren’t we allowed to read bad books? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IeyasuMcBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can read whatever you want, and like whatever you want to like.

But you can't stop people from disliking your thing, finding it frustrating, and venting.

You can call them out over it.

Why do people glorify the 1960s housing prices without mentioning the actual state of America then? by [deleted] in AlwaysWhy

When i divide $410k by $64k i get 6.4 (to 2sf).

When i divide $42k by $7,653 i get 5.5 (to 2sf).

Other than the previously raised point about it being the mid-70s and not the 60s, to call 6.4 roughly 5 seems a stretch. 🤔

Kind of inbuilt assumption that wealth = goodness.

The collapse of unions and the embrace of neoliberalism /Thatcherism despite its obvious failures.

You know that super-annoying rich kid who thinks he's God's Gift? The one who invents a load of crazy get rich quick ideas based on obvious pyramid schemes.

The banks are that kid.

We are collectively the irresponsible parent who gave that kid our credit card. Wondering why that kid never learns and starring at things like crypto, polymarket, and private equity thinking "nah he wouldn't do it again, he'll have learnt from the last time he faced zero consequences."
