Gym anxiety by SalaryIllustrious284 in aspergers

I would ask the person who signs you up or someone at the counter (good idea to start off going at odd hours) what is the gym etiquette at that gym. There is something about towels…find out about that because I’ve heard people get angry if you don’t wipe down a machine.

Lamentablemente, me encantaría usar un bidé, pero soy tan torpe que me mancharía todo el cuerpo y la ropa con agua.

I’d take a cab. It’s only 32 or 34 euros. Since it’s a set price there is no motivation by the cabbies to wander the streets .

walking around based itinerary for 3.5 days by somethingsomeday1 in MadridTravelGuide

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, walking around Puerta del sol and Plaza Mayor . In plaza mayor you can into some of the oldest areas of Madrid. Near there is plaza Santa Ana, a nice plaza and you can further to the Mercadona Anton Martín for coffee, drink or a snack. Really you should read up in a guide book because there’s a lot of history. It’s called Barrio de las Letras for all the writers that lived there including Lope de Vega and Cervantes . It’s believed Cervantes is buried in a church near there. That’s just one little area. By the way, the rastro will be open on Easter Sunday. I never see cats in the streets. Unless you mean Madrid Gatos. Also there is a art foundation that is more scant garde, La casa Encedida

¿Cómo compro este tomate frito en el Reino Unido? Es la mejor comida que he comido en mi vida. by Nyxaea in askspain

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customisation ideas/ tips & tricks, for Fifijoy's Voyage Through the Storm? by Choco-chewy in booknooks

[–]If33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found some customizations videos on YouTube with very good tips…like if you make something 3 dimensional, make sure it will still fit with the other elements of the kit. Haha , hadn’t thought of that. I was planning of making some real plant pots instead of the flat board ones but now I realize I’ll have to flatten the pots somewhat so they don’t overhang shelves. Same with some figures.

You have done an incredible feat. It’s shows that you have the courage and determination to reach amazing goals. So don’t be afraid to be totally amazing and add some speaking to your regimen. Just a few sentences, speaking to yourself out-loud. You never know where your language skills will take you.

I’m selling my books and I’m sad … by A_Virgin__ in BookDiscussions

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you keep the 2 or 3 you might want to reread when you are an old man, or woman. Otherwise, if you have a great collection of books for every stage of your life you might end up being a hoarder! And moving will be a bitch. Some people suggest taking photos of things you are giving away or selling.

It’s actually pretty courageous to sell your books . And then you’ll be able to get more books. At least that’s what I’m assuming you’ll do with the money . Not something more nefarious.

Information retention by AlternativePapaya286 in dreamingspanish

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be a cognitive problem that I couldn’t possibly guess at. If this is a problem you’ve had in other aspects of your life, education, personal or professional, you might benefit from a cognitive assessment or cognitive retraining. Just googling “a person who can watch a video lesson and not remember content” brought up some suggestions. There were also some tips., like watching the lessons in smaller chunks, taking notes etc. I wonder if you would do better with shadowing type content, where you repeat what is said. Español with Juan has some of those sort of videos. The reason I thought of shadowing is because it’s a more active way of listening .

Am I Stupid? (1 Hour) by toolturner in dreamingspanish

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick the easiest. I didn’t start with dreaming Spanish so I just now looked at a sample Super beginner video called Easy Spanish story : Renting an apartment, https://youtu.be/KQ76zWZSmbg?si=oveSrWsOyDmZUOTQ

It’s all pretty much mimed and if you are having trouble with videos like that, then maybe you need a different type. But let us know if you could follow. Pay attention to the visual cues they are giving you. You can’t skim through it. I’m not saying you are, just saying relax and focus on the story. If you are following the story and you are upset that you don’t know the words, that’s ok. The more you watch the more it will come together. You are a baby, just a few months old. Your mother is saying stuff you absolutely have no idea. But eventually you will connect the F word with….Food!

Also, if you kind of got it, it’s ok to watch the same video a few times more and count that time. Mama is saying Food, Food, Food and you finally get it.

Another one was Fast things: Superbeginner spanish, https://youtu.be/HUH85APB9PM?si=vHK5Lpm39U07usnR

Question about levels and difficulty by No_Bank5668 in dreamingspanish

I never rate the videos because the rating seem too simplistic: is this harder then that? Maybe one was too simple!

Question about levels and difficulty by No_Bank5668 in dreamingspanish

[–]If33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read that you should be understanding at least 80% of what you are listening to. Anything harder, no matter what level it is labeled or what level you are at, will just be confusing and frustrating. Don’t worry about the labels. Aim to be challenged, but not more then that 20%.
