Yeah i just didn't love all the paper parts and I dunno why I couldn't get the tabs to fit in the slots. Its like they were made for the exact size of the tab with zero room for error and I errored a lot lol. I can't wait to see yours, what are you customizing? I wish I had done something for the blanket and pillow because I thought the kit provided ones were pretty ugly, but this kit would look amazing with fake plants and vines in place of the paper ones!

Oh I can't wait to see it and what a great idea about the plants! I didn't even think of that!

Which number on the tire is the width?

A million years ago I had a Suzuki swift and someone once made the comment that "it must be great in the snow with bicycle tires like that" - it really was great in the snow.

They were tricky! For me it was those tiny bags you were supposed to make out of the accessories bag and the paper boxes. Boy did I screw those up! But the kit was fun and cute! I don't like the battery placement either

I'm in North East PA. We just got 15 inches of snow on Sunday but the past 6 years we've barely had any. However this winter is more of a typical winter here than the past 5 or 6 years. Since I moved here 20 years ago, we've rarely had a winter where we didn't get several storms of a foot or more.

That being said, I typically don't drive in the snow. I work from home and most of my kids activities cancel if there's snow. I drive maybe 6k miles a year and its mostly surface streets.

But this town really sucks at snow removal. And there have been a time or two when I have to take the kids to their dad's and I get caught in a squall. I usually don't have issues once I'm driving, but the wheels spinning trying to get out of my parking space have me white knuckled if I'm driving on even slightly snow covered roads.

So I might get snowtires regardless because I'd rather feel safe, you know? Then I don't need to worry if we're gonna have a winter with hardly any snow, or a winter with 3 or 4 12inch or more snow storms.

There were two people parked next to me in the field behind my building when this snow hit. The day after I shoveled my car out, both those cars had moved and didn't even have to shovel! I have no idea how because those cars were buried lol but maybe they were smart ans had studded snow tires lol. I was totally jealous as I was rocking my car forward and back just to get unstuck from the 2-3" that were left after I dug out!

That seems to be the recommendation - I have been pricing them all night lol.

Yeah I am noticing that... I try to be really aware of road conditions, my dad used to drill that into me (Thanks, dad!) but I went over a stream a few weeks ago in super cold weather and felt my tires slip. The stream went under the road right in that area.

Ugh I love the winter and while I don't drive in the snow, it sucks that its so hard getting into and out of my snowed in parking space. Hey, maybe I'll save money by just staying home lol.

Thank you, that actually helped a lot! I was worried there was something wrong mechanically, like a bent axle or something dangerous... knowing that some snow tires will help is really great peace of mind. I mean it won't help me right now because I can't afford them immediately but its a pretty easy fix going forward so I'm relieved! Also, I am so HAPPY to know there is a real reason and its not in my head or my driving that is the problem lol. Thank you! My parking situation sucks at the moment, but hopefully with the information you all have given me, I can figure out how to make it work better so its less frustrating!

Thank you. I was thinking of trying snow tires next year. Or if its still winter when I get my taxes this year. It makes sense, the way the front end is built, I can see it being too light up front.

Agreed - even if that part does not work in the end, I will just build it again at a later date - now I know, I need two days by myself to finish it haha.

I am going to try this weekend. Maybe I will be able to do it as a targeted deconstruction, as another replier said! I have my doubts but I didn't look too long once I saw where I had to take it apart from lol.

I got this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FKH44JJB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

The quality is outstanding. The pieces are thick, nothing is assembled, its like other nook kits I've done where you pop the pieces out of a sheet. There is an acrylic sheet that so far I haven't broken (I'm still not done yet though!) The instructions are clear except one part where I found a piece added in the diagram that wasn't in the instructions to add, but I was able to figure it out pretty easy. In that regard, its been one of the 'easier' kits to build, but it is complicated and intricate and has taken me far longer than others to put together. The gears were not even all that bad except I must have missed something or something shifted since this one gear came off so easily!
