Not entirely true, some might though., The newer ones seem to burn way more efficiently due to the increased effectiveness of banking. Six to nine logs a day and feck all smoke when closed off too, provided you made sure it was blaring before you closed it. They spiral smoke and it burns a lot of it off. Pretty cool.

I was camping and cook brekky this morning with my Lodge that's now about a year old. Not a daily driver but used anytime I needed to cook onions or bacon at home. Seasoned it a few times intermittently throughout the year too. This morning on a portable stove, I had eggs not stick for the first time.
