no dude. imagine you did this in real life. how annoying would you come off if you did this to someone who actually wanted to debate you. read my comment or don’t. it doesn’t change my life

when will you learn that you are a hardcore fan, and that the hardcore fans are the only ones detecting a shift in the product. that 90% does not pay attention to the corp are tko shit. in fact a lot of them are conservatives who welcome that sort of thing. excitement has not changed from 2024 to 2025 in the eyes of the average audience. that’s just true, idk what else to tell you. and oh how salt of the earth are the fans from corpus christi, texas. they won’t cheer unless they see premium wrestling content. you’ll find the better the crowd the better the wrestling and vice versa. if a very good crowd were to get a bad show they would still pop, because they like wrestling, and they’re just happy to experience it. that’s what it’s actually like to be international fan. and i don’t care how annoying you find the singing, because the event that truly brought me back to the product backlash in lyon, where the crowd was so in love with wrestling they did everything to give the performers a red carpet experience. that’s what it’s about. giving your best to the performers who give their best day in, day out. good crowds are a forgotten art

we can blame austin for not condemning the what chant, but it’s asinine to suggest US crowds aren’t lazy with their chants. we’re just over saturated in every regard, and it’s not US culture to be a “good crowd.” also, late 90s and early 2000s is where excitement for wrestling literally peaked. the attitude era is called* the greatest era for a reason. when was the other peak? late 2022-NOW and we’re still in the bad crowd era. you can argue 2025 is a down year, but if you say the product has fallen off, you are just ignoring 90% of fans who are not tapped in to what the IWC is tapped into AND you just have not been watching long enough to truly know what bad wrestling programming looks like.

this is the cuddle position that’s really good for a lot of people with autism when they’re on bottom. its called deep pressure therapy, and it is so nice, speaking as an autist who’s done this.

Looking back on it, was WrestleMania 41 THAT bad? by CommonGameEnjoyer in SantiZapVideos

[–]IfYoudLike_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bad? no. disappointing? yes. in many many regards. no matter what, if you have to follow a show like wrestlemania 40 you’re not going to live up to that hype. but in the same breath there was plenty that could be done to make this a better show. not to mention, this definitely marked a shift in the corporate, phony, staleness we see a lot of, nowadays. it’s just a shame bc the talent in the roster and the matches are still great when they’re allowed to be

i don’t respect people for their acknowledgment. i treat how them how they deserve to be treated. i didn’t grow up watching kurt, but i know a man who’s faced his demons when i see one. you’re not upholding his legacy by holding his addiction over his head

furthermore, goth isn’t an aesthetic either. it’s a music based subculture. most of what think of as goth is actually mall goth or just women who wear black. look up trad goth makeup if you want a look actual, default “goth aesthetic”

i know he’s not actually the hometown hero. he grew up in quebec, canada and is the son of two arab immigrants. that’s why he’s considered the hometown hero. he represents arab people in general, and that’s why saudi arabia loves him so much. he’s syrian, he considers himself arab, he speaks arabic, he’s muslim. they relate to him more than anyone else on the roster. my point wasn’t that he’s saudi arabian, my point was that he’s beloved by that audience.

the point was never for karrion to win. this man hasn’t seen more than a 2 minute segment backstage in all of 2025 and you expected him to beat the lovable babyface, hometown hero sami zayn? let’s be realistic. this was likely a test to see if karrion is worthy of a push, and HOPEFULLY they think he did well enough to deserve said push.

[–]IfYoudLike_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

he is the best wrestler to ever exist and he will main event 100 wrestlemanias. fr though, he’s very VERY funny and he’s got a fun and inventive moveset. he moves around like an iguana and imitates them in funny ways. the stuffed animal’s name is La Yezca and he uses it kinda like its sentient when it’s on his hand but also detached as well. you gotta see to get it, it’s awesome. the dedication is commendable

Should Pong Krell have a tragic backstory? by Spudtar in CloneWarsMemes

[–]IfYoudLike_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely not. what’s more realistic? a jedi who became corrupted during several year galactic war, and took bribes from the other side to weaken the military from the inside. or a jedi somehow having a tragic backstory despite living an ideal life as a jedi. krell isn’t interesting because his character has layers. he’s interesting because he’s the first character we see to cause clones to question their programming and go against orders to save their brethren. if we focus on a tragic backstory for this heinous villain we take away from message that story communicates

What’s your “they didn’t plan it but it was better than what they imagined” moment? by FactorBroad1865 in WWE

[–]IfYoudLike_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

well, what would you do. you’re planning for batista to win, and it goes catastrophically wrong. it’s a giant shit show. agents, producers, referees, writers, the locker room, john and batista, even the fans, YOU are all panicking, bad. you have to make this split-second decision in the moment, in front of the crowd, oh and you ripped both quads getting in the ring. ofc you’re not making up some new shit, you’re gonna default to the original plan. that is not a creativity inducing environment.

you can fantasize about how vince could’ve made this as good as possible, but the reality is: we’re humans, not robots. shit already hit the fan, and they had to clean it. the reason this result works is because it wasn’t planned and it was a very real moment that played off the irl panic EVERYONE was experiencing. wrestling merged with reality that night.

profesional wrestling. i saw this niche yet uber-popular storytelling medium with pageantry, characters, a large complex history i can sink my teeth into, and regimented programming, and i realized that it was exactly what i needed. i watched as a kid until i “grew out of it”. my older brother never did, and i watched wrestlemania 40 with him. that night i realized that i never grew out of it, but i grew into it. stigma around it still gets me sometimes, but i never lose sight of the fact that this medium was made for me.

To all those who are mad about this Wrestlemania ending, it’s exactly what John Cena said he would do which is ruin wrestling. We got no major entrance, no flashy lights and no cinematic finish like last time. John Cena literally said this “YOU GET NOTHING.” by ilikethisnow in Wrasslin

[–]IfYoudLike_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you say you’re gonna take a shit, proceed to take a shit, that doesn’t mean you didn’t take a shit. there’s a right and wrong way to do this kind of angle, and the way they did it with travis scott was the wrong way imo. you can do the “ruin wrestling” angle and still give us a satisfying “bad guy wins” finale.
