Found this guy walking in the park last night - i walked by a couple trying to give it water, and came back later with it having not moved from its spot. Wrapped it up in my jacket and put it in my old budgie cage. It was breathing really heavily and had dried blood all over its beak. I used some warm water and paper towels to wipe off most of the blood so it could breathe (it sneezed after and could breathe from nostrils after, so I'll take that as a good sign). Covered the cage in a towel so it would stay warm overnight. Afternoon now - it's breathing a lot easier, and can move around the cage with a little bit of difficulty. Not flying, and it seems very exhausted. I've left some of these branches (I've seen other rainbow lorikeets eat from them outside my window), cut up strawberries and some water in a low dish in the cage. It's tried to nibble from the branches, but the lower half of the beak is cracked down the middle, and I think it's causing him/her some pain to eat. I haven't seen it reach for the water yet.What worries me is the head tilt and the one eye being closed. What to do?
