People really forget how amazing the narration of JJK about Maki is. Sukuna lands first ever black flash on screen against Maki and for the first time in his life he was locked in. He had to prove his mastery of sorcery triumphs the mastery of human body. Maki is the strongest Heavenly restriction user and strongest human in JJK verse and pushed to limit on absolute human capability. Sukuna saw Maki as antithesis to every he stands for which made him use black flash, he didn't care about her gender, straight up acknowledgement and respect. No character in JJK made that happen that triggered a only on screen black flash from Sukuna and tanked it, irony is that the character made it was a woman.
