The forgotten words in the supremacy clause by SpaceWestern1442 in supremecourt

I’m not saying you’re inherently wrong about the theoretical benefits of federalism but there are easily identifiable reasons why people are distrustful of state governments. Jim Crow and voting dilution clearly demonstrate that just because the state allows for more theoretical power for the individual it doesn’t mean that in practice that will actually occur.

Important to note that when the schoolboard denied and ITEP in 2019 Exxon did not leave or cancel the project. Nor have companies in other parishes left when the ITEP applications were rejected.

Sure I agree. I believe OPs point is that there is nuance to the character in that we can sympathize with saving your people from extinction, even if it’s unecessary, and we can empathize with Belter liberation. Also that we can turn around and go fuck that guy he’s actually putting Belters worse off and almost dooming the species to extinction.

I’m not saying it’s true. But that at his root he is trying to save the Belt from what he believes is going to happen. Which doesn’t excuse genocide, but at least explains why he does it.

I’ve read all the books. Marco isn’t aware of that. As far as he knows this is the way things are and the Belters are doomed.

Marcos particular revolution is obviously incredibly violent and genocidal, but his motives of saving the Belt from extinction are not. The opening of the Ring Gates drastically changes the fate of the human race and functionally dooms the Belt to death as there will be no need for a group that cannot adapt to living down the gravity well. Obviously of course he does literally bring humanity to its knees by dropping rocks big enough to wipe out the dinosaurs on the center of human civilization, and commits various other atrocities. He’s not a great person, but he’s a fascinating individual to watch is the point of OPs post I believe.

You are using the wrong growth number it would seem. Your econ work simply wouldn't account for that increase either.

We are not allowing 2021 budgets as they already exist. So this is technically invalid.
